"Classes" in Fallout 3?

I'm coming from Skyrim (also Oblivion and Morrowind). In those games you can be a 'Warrior' or 'Archer', or 'Mage' and 'Assassin' and other 'classes'.

In Fallout, can you also do things like this, cause as I understand you use guns and that probably removes the idea of classes, right? Also, are armors separated into heavy and light armor? In other words, can you professionalize into a 'class' like you can in the Elder Scrolls series?

I was wondering if you can do a Ninja/Assassin type of character using Katana's in the game, if you can do that.

1. You can still have classes, melee, diplomat, scientist, tank, thief, etc.
2. Armors are: Light, Medium, Heavy.
3. You can do a Ninja there are certain armors, weapons, and aid items perfect for it.
