Clean install CTD and play windowed ;( : V

Hi,

I just installed Skyrim legendary edition via steam. No mods.

When I first started the game I noticed that even though the windowed mode was unchecked, the game ran in a window fitting the whole screen. Well, maybe I could live with that.

But when I started playing the game it startede to CTD without any error message every time an autosave occured and when I saved manually. Pretty annoying.

So I checked

C:\Users\"Me"\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SkyrimPrefs.cfg

to see that

bFull Screen=1

iSize H=1080

iSize W=1920

which should be fine to my knowledge. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the game just to see that it was still the same.

Does anyone have an idea to what is wrong? Any help is appreciated.

Specs:

Intel core i7 Quad Core 1.60GHz

AMD mobility Radeon HD 5850 1GB

8 GB RAM

1920x1080

64 bit

I see a problematic pre-release version of windows 8.1

I would say windows 8.1 preview it's not perfectly stable yet, therefore it's a preview....you should wait for the RTM version, or better install windows 7 operating system.
