Determining if there are problems with GMSTs:
- Use a utility like Wingrep and search for "GMST" in the data files, with the filter: *.es? Be suspicious of exactly 11, 61, or 72 results
- In game, add spells bm_summonbear, bm_summonwolf, and bm_summonbonewolf and verify that they actually work.
- In game, verify that in the vendor menu, the button reads "Seller Max" and not "Max Sale"
- Not sure if Testool is still the preferred method of cleaning, or if Emerald Editor is preferred?
- For Testool, use restrict dialog and cell cleaning
- For Testool, only clean, no leveled lists, no merge dialog, no just fix it
- I know there are lists of mods that should not be cleaned, but I have not seen any mods from the last several years. Are there any newer mods that shouldn't be cleaned?
- Are GMSTs even a concern anymore, since Bloodmoon and Tribunal are ubiquitous now?
Dirty mods:
- Seems that TespCD is the preferred approach for finding and fixing dirty referenced
- If TespCD is preferred, and Emerald Editor can be used for GMSTs, is Testools obsolete for these functions? (I believe that Testool is still preferred for merged objects)
- in TespCD, should Report Dialog Text be used to clean dialogue, or is that too risky?
Are these operations safe for an ongoing game, or will a new game be required? (I have seen conflicting answers, specifically around cleaning GMSTs)
Any feedback appreciated, thanks in advance!
