I thought about that briefly but wondered, why have it as "dog" at any point? When you meet an NPC for the first time, it isn't just "person", even if they haven't introduced themselves. We always see their name.

Maybe I'm wrong and we come across a dying master later, or something. But I think if he was named, that name would be what we see on the screen when we first meet him- like it has been for every NPC so far, AFAIK.

To be fair that's the junk jet in both images which is the new Rock-It Launcher. It's kind of a joke weapon to start with so having an electrified or burning teddy bear isn't that big a leap. They had electrical damage with jingwei's shocksword in FO3 via the Anchorage DLC so it's not exactly the first time this has been in fallout.

So you're saying you think that these attachments will only be for the Junk Jet?

That would be my guess. It's possible they might have similar attachments for other weapons but I doubt every attachment will work with every gun.

I definitely wouldn't want them to be on every weapon. I think they would be appropriate (at least as they've been depicted so far) on energy weapons. But I wouldn't be surprised either if they were just for the Junk Jet.

I've heard that before too. This guy makes the claim: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/3a642z/i_met_todd_howard_yesterday_heres_what_he_told_me/

I will expand by saying that Bethesda have said they're trying to make it a great story this time around. Naming a dog, I would say, goes farther for building a relationship with the dog than him simply having a name does. It makes that NPC family, essentially- so there's more to play off of, storywise.

Yeah, that I can't rely on. I've come across enough fake "confirmations" about video game features on reddit this year alone.

The rock it launcher had muzzles who let you set stuff on fire, nice to shoot burning garden gnomes at somebody. Lasers muzzles has other functions like splitting the beam.

who cares about that stupoid dog , he s been overhyped to a point i am wondering what bethesda is trying to hide

most likely the fact that they didn t managed to fix the followers AI and your human companions still do the stupidiest things you can i magone , but with using that dog in scripted gameplayfooting it is not so obvious

This sounds plausible. I have my name printed on my human bowl so I don't forget what it is. Not that it's anybody's business but I also have it etched into the handles of my eating utensils, in case I forget my name while I'm lifting a fork up to my mouth. So far it seems to be working. I haven't forgotten my name yet.

Anyways, back to our regularly scheduled thread topic...

but what if you forget your name while in the bathroom... or even outside? =0 bet you never thought of that huh.

but yeah the dogs name is dogmeat... its always been dogmeat... always... as to the person that said why it doesnt show the dogs name when you meet it but does other people is probably so you know who to talk to when a quest tells you to go talk to someone.. a quest like that would be confusing if every person was just called (human) or (bandit) or (ghoul) whereas with the dog... hes the only dog.. or one of the few dogs in the game and you would never need to talk to him (cus dogs cant talk)

and there are nameless npcs around too that dont matter and would never need to be talked to.
