[RELz] Clep Home

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2009 7:53 pm

@ Rayek - Thank you so very much :D Yes, this mod feels like it is my baby and it is growing up and getting bigger lol! I have spent many hours on this mod and still many more in the future :woot: It is what I enjoy doing, I want to improve it and make it better. I know if anyone would understand that, it is you :twirl:

For anyone that can't remember or don't know what Clep stands for : Collectors Love Every Piece Since I love to collect just about everything in the game, I like to keep things tidy and organized. I also love places that allow us to show off our own items, so places with plenty of shelves, table tops, etc. I also tend to forget where I have stored something if there are only a few containers to place items into. Since the game was fairly new when I got it, I decided to make something that would give me what I needed. I am just happy that other people like the same things! Clep Home has also allowed me to learn more things along the way, to do things that I really wanted (with the encouragement of everyone and the ideas). So thank you to all the down-loaders, supporters, lurkers, ect :hugs:

@ pawnofchaos - Thank you so very much! I saved the pictures that you and Xiomberg posted and I am going to re-upload them when I put up the new version. I even named them as what they were named so I wouldn't forget :) I do agree with you about vault 101 exit location. I love the idea of Rivet City, but it isn't central. Heck, I may just put the exit location close to Mini Hideout ;) ! At least I have a few ideas :D

Your wish is my command, I will add more mannequin stands (btw, now nothing sinks in them, I had to turn them upside down...or right side up  so you can do this now if you like to fix that part). I will add some of those cases, but I will have to re-texture them because I try to stay away from wood color. I might even chop off the legs... but I will see where I can place them first. Since I am expanding that room a bit, I may be able to add a door that leads to a trophy room area. We will see after I finish the script hacking/slashing and such.

@ en-sabbah-norr - Thank you so very much for stopping by and for your kind words :D You are very welcome! Clep Home isn't perfect yet, but I am working very hard to get it as close as I know how :D

Just a quick update to say the only part of all the scripting left to do is the Food. Everything else is set up :) I went threw each item in the scripts and looked them up on http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:Fallout_3 There are a lot of items I removed, so you may end up running into some items that don't get sorted. If that does happen when the new update is out, just let me know so I can add them in. If you want to be a HUGE help, if anyone has a save that I can use, with every single item in the game (without using the console, mods or DLC's) I would be forever grateful! I doubt anyone does, but it is worth asking anyways. You would get credit of course!

After the food is done (just separating the cold food from the boxed/canned food) then I can work on the display room. I also have to find a nice opening and closing sound for the containers. Someone mentioned that, so it shall be done :)

Btw, as it turns out, I didn't need to make any new containers after all.

Nice, sounds like you've been busy!

Bet you it was a relief that you didn't have to make any additional containers...nice when it works out like that.

Sorry I don't have any saves with all items, even looked for some on the cheats/mods section but didn't find any :shakehead: ...should be a console command like player.additem everything 1...oh well.

Thanks for keeping us updated...looking forward to it. (and lol at making a Mini Hideout exit :lmao: )

No worries, I found a mod today that sends you to a room with all the items :D I can properly test now :D This means I may have to add some things, but I will be certain everything will be done right.

Progress update: Ok, I think I have all the boring sorter scripts sorted and finalized. As it turns out, I have 2 terminals that you can use, but would you believe that there are a total of 9 that are being used  Even things that you can only acquire threw the console should be sorted as well. I am debating if I should go ahead and have the bobbleheads sorted along with the skill books. I probably will, just to be on the safe side in the end.

I added open and close sounds to all the containers, the safe, light switches, operation light, and the fridge so far.

I just have to do a test run again today to make sure everything is working properly, then I can advance further to the Display room. I was also thinking of adding an entertainment room. I have this great idea that I have to test out with a game in the entertainment room. No promises yet though :P

Thanks for the update!

Well now that I know more, the mystery is revealed...kinda,

Ok, the sorters are tested and done.

I had plans to make the storage room a tad bigger and add open doors, one leading to a trophy/display room, the other leading to an entertainment room. Geck did not like me taking a whole selection and moving them, it kept messing up my x, y, and z's positioning :brokencomputer: After close to 10 attempts and reloads, I decided that the G.E.C.K won that battle. So, I added another room at the end, and moved the whole storage room items to the new room. The old storage room is now empty and going to be turned into the entertainment/living room. I am glad that G.E.C.K won though, cause I actually like it better

Anyways, here are progress pictures so far:

Progress update: I started working on the entertainment room and was working on an idea that I had. It still needs some tweaking, but I am happy that my idea works :woot: Ever use your z key to grab something and whip it around the room for fun? Well I have and I get a kick out of it. So why not turn that feature into a fun game? I have! Now you can play basket object! Here is some images to show you what I mean.

http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l441/Mysticgaminggal/Clep%20Home/ScreenShot4.jpg
http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l441/Mysticgaminggal/Clep%20Home/ScreenShot5.jpg <--- I am placing mine just for the image.

http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l441/Mysticgaminggal/Clep%20Home/ScreenShot7.jpg <---- Click basket again and it will go back to original position.

Like I said, I still have to tweak it and find a better spot :D

I have also added a pool table that I changed the wood color to black. I will show an image at a later time :)

Thank you so very much Xiomberg :D I still have your images saved that you uploaded and will be uploading them again (probably tomorrow) when Clep Home (updated) is finished.

Ok, looks like I am 99% done with Clep Home. There were some script ideas that I wanted to use, but I just can't find the motivation to sit down with them this update and try to get them done in time. Possibly for another update though. I also wanted to give Zek an eating package, but he never ate what I put in front of him. Maybe he just wasn't hungry. Will save that for another time as well.

Well, it is looking like the update will be out either tonight or tomorrow :dancing: The navmesh is updated for the new rooms. I guess the only things left to do is to add the optional exit, and modify the readme.

Very nice, eagerly looking forward to this Miss Sparkle. Maybe Sasha will stop complaining that there's nothing to do when I have her house sitting for me. I mean, she can play with Zek... I look forward to shooting some baskets and pool. :) (is there a pool shooting animation, I wonder? Make for a nice idle)

Looking forward to the update...urge to shoot some hoops all of a sudden. ;)

@ Ashya - Thank you! The only idol that had the word pool in it was TedPool, so just to be on the safe side, I added it. Hopefully it is pool related

@ Rayek - Thank you so very much :D

Ok, it is done :) I am super tired and going to bed now. I will check tomorrow for any reports, issues or such things :)

Comments dont seem to be showing up in nexus so ill post this here

WOW just wow you have really outdone your self with this one every thing works great just a couple bugs

1 it seems if you had the old clep version all the storage containers seem to stay in thier orignal area ie where you entertainment room is now :( the ony way i found to be able to fix that is to take every thing out exit unceck clep load save then get the clep glasses again.

also some of the containers seem to be textured different then the others and some seem to dissapear you can still use and pick them up and then they show up again.

i had deleted all the old clep files so im pretty shure it not that.

maby there would be a way to hit a button that resets the containers orignal positions. kinda reset room button.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to give me feedback, as well as the nice comment :D

Ok, I will make a note to make sure people have a clean save. Bummer about that situation, I was hoping it would be a smooth install.

I am 99% sure that the reason the containers look that ways is because of the blue light. I will do a test later to see if it makes a difference, if not, I am going to have to say bye to them and think of another plan (probably footlockers). I didn't change them since the last update, only changed the position and the lighting.

When you say disappear, do you mean that they disappear when you are looking straight at them, or just when they are at the corner of your screen? I know about the bug where they disappear at the corners (well, the left and right side of the screen) and I don't know how to fix that, but it does bug me.

Does anyone even use the method where you can move the containers to another spot? If not, I think I will just use static containers.

NP ya every thing is going great now i did a clean save and that seemed to fix it now just a matter of aranging things in the room. ya i dont know about other people but i never really moved thoes containers around at all (except when i ran into them by accedent and sent them flying >_<) once im done deorating ill post some more pic's (lovin the display cases btw).

Idea for feeding zek if you have something that spawns lets say a hostel mole rat or bramin he should attack i right? thats kinda feeding him lol as for the corpse im not shure what you could do with that maby some sort of bin that deletes things put in it?

I am glad to hear that with a clean save, it fixed everything :D I think the next update I will just use the footlocker containers but add static labels onto them. That seems it would be the best method.

When I tried to add an eat package to Zek, he no longer walked around. All he would do is clean his teeth, sharpen his claws and turn to face me if I walked by him. I will have to do some research on packages and make Zek more realistic. Right now Zek wont attack anything. If you shoot him, all he will do is run like the wind away from you

So far the next update will have:
Static containers with labels
More options for Zek

New update looks great! :celebration: ...took some screens got all ready to upload/comment and Nexus is having problems. :(

At work but will check in tonight to see if it's all fixed and follow through.

Really like the update, entertainment room is a great addition. Only suggestion would be to light the display cases just a little more...

Great update...Worth the wait...:D

Thank you very much Rayek! I agree, the display cases do need more light, so I will add that to the list of changes to work on :)

I am going to take a few days off from updating this mod. I need a bit of a break, and I want to come back to it refreshed :P It will also allow people to try to break the mod as well

Oh, I forgot to mention, I didn't add an alternative exit. I tried a method and it didn't go as planned. It is easier just to open up pipboy and teleport from that anyways. I also had a slight fear that if someone had made an edit to that vault exit area, that my mod wouldn't work properly for them, so I couldn't exactly add a door to that area. I also thought that I would be asking for trouble cause once you teleport out without using the glasses, it doesn't update your teleport markers. So you would have to reset them and that can kinda be a pain when you are in the middle of something. I am sorry.

Very nice Miss Sparkle. I made the upgrade today, and very happy with it. The big new storage area is nice, though as mentioned, some more light could be used over the display cases. I love the new entertainment room, it looks very nice. Now I'll have to go out and pick up some pool balls and cue sticks. :) I did notice one thing though, that I'm not sure is just my install, or in everyone's house. By the pool table, right in the patch between the two doors, there is a pair of glasses hovering about face height. It's just hovering in mid air, and can't be affected by anything. You can't grab them, or pick them up and mousing over them doesn't display any name or anything. I'll have to open the house in GECK later and see if it's in there.

Thank you Ashya :D I am glad you got to get your living room type room after all! I wasn't sure what type of things that you would be interested in having, so I stuck with the very basics. Things could always be added a lot easier than being taken out.

I wonder if the glasses issue that you are experiencing is because there was still information left over from the previous versions on your save. The glasses are now moved to the 2 tables as you walk into the new storage area. I will double check tonight anyways because that would certainly get on my nerves and would need to be fixed as soon as possible. Thanks for letting me know!

I think the entertainment room is great. When I sit down to customize it, I plan to add a bookshelf somewhere, but that's the only thing I can think of. I did some checking on the glasses thing, and they don't show up in GECK, so it's obviously something with the save I have. In the previous version, I had dropped one of the companion glasses and it just vanished, I couldn't find it anywhere. So I'm guessing that's where it wound up, and it's been fixed in place now. I'm not sure what to do about it, but it's a minor thing. Being a pair of glasses, it's pretty hard to see. It just happened to be right about head height, so I saw it when walking through to the storage room.

I must say, this is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for, another home and more storage, thank you so much, plus the place is kick ass, seriously! I wish I had this place back when I first started playing, dang.. I spent like nearly 2 hours transferring stuff from Megaton to CLEP this morning, hehe, I'm picky with everything, was the same way in Morrowind & Oblivion, often spending a few hours. Plus, what's great is you can teleport there even if you're over encumbered, hehe, which in a way is kind of cheat-ish but I don't care. You could grab everything you want, tele there, and just drop stuff even then tele back. :)

1) I gave Clover the companion glasses but she never comes with me, not sure if there's a trick for it, but it doesn't really matter, I really don't need her with me.

1b) However, do you think there's a way to have your companion stay there at CLEP (if you're able to get them there)? Sometimes I prefer to go into some place alone and be sneaky (which is practically impossible when a follower is with you, unless you have them wait far enough back) and have her and my dog stay at Megaton. It would be nifty to have her at least stay there at CLEP, that way if I want some backup or feel like having her with me I could tele to CLEP and get there then tele back. It's not really a big deal, but say I do want her to wait somewhere so I can be sneaky or whatever, having her wait there at CLEP would be better then having to travel back to an area where I left her to wait.

(not related to CLEP) It would be great if there was a way to "call" your companion and dog to you even, does such a mod exist?

2) I too agree with a little more lighting in the main room, where you appear

3) How do you get mannequins, and can you dress them up with armor and weapons, like that 1 mod for Oblivion, where you tele to a big room with tons of stands, man, I had a ton of mannequins in there with armor & weapons, and rare stuff on. I wouldn't be like that with Fallout 3, but I wouldn't mind a few mannequins with stuff on display, it would look cool. There's 8 stands in that main room right? Yeah, that's perfect, prolly wouldn't use more than that anyway

3) Is there a set limit to how much you can have in each of those containers?

4) Is there a limit to how much "loose" stuff you can have in the whole area? I was obsessed like that in Morrowind & Oblivion, had tons of swords on display & armor, and after having some vanish and go into the magical "loot bag" that appears out of nowhere when you have too much loose stuff around, or worse, have stuff vanish totally, which I've had happen, I've become a bit weary of just leaving loose stuff around, haven't done it in Fallout 3 much at all, just a few things.

5) I took the 1 pair of glasses and gave them to Clover as I mentioned, but I don't need the other (not aware of being able to have more that 1 follower, not including your dog), so I wanted to move them, and put them on the desk or something, but I'm having a similar problem that someone else mentioned. I can pick them up and move them just fine, but when you try to put them onto something like a table, counter, or shelf, they sit there for a split second, but then fall through onto the floor, or maybe it just goes inside the object, not 100% sure, but I think fall through. Either way the glasses vanish, but you see the name of them when moving the mouse over the area where it was/went. Not really a big deal, just wanted to mention it; I just stuck them in the desk drawer for now.

6) A few footlockers would be great, but I'm not complaining really, it's great the way it is. Love the lights you can turn off/on.

7) This is just a suggestion, again, not really complaining at all, but maybe, just maybe, have 2 mannequin stands one on either side in the bedroom, in replace of those shelves or in addition to them, or maybe display cases instead.

Anyway, you busted your ass to make this I'm sure, looks like it, so, great job, and thank you for this mod. :-)

P.S. I put the "Break" (the rare high quality pool stick) on the pool table, lol, just had to, seemed fitting

I'd like to endorse it, but when I tried earlier it wouldn't let me saying I have to wait more than 3 hours after downloading it, even though 9-10 hours passed. Tried again recently and it keeps saying IPS server error or something, so, sorry, I'll keep trying.

@ CoolShady - Thank you so much for the congrats! I remember your name from Oblivion forums :D

I'm floating all around the place really. :P Good to see that there are still improvements going into it. Do you have any other projects planned?
