Release Date: Thursday July 23, 2009
Mod: Clep (Collectors Love Every Piece) Home
Mod Maker: Miss Sparkle
Version: 4.0
Requirements: Fallout 3 and ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944
*Should work with 1.5 and 1.6 patch. There is no need to use FO3 Master Update, or anything else.
Report Issues: http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=999655

About:
This is a teleport storage/display/home mod. The purpose of this mod is to cut down on the need to teleport all over the map so you can enjoy the game. You don't have to leave a quest or a fight because you need to get an item and have to come all the way back anymore. Just teleport to Clep Home and then teleport right back to where you were to finish.

How to start and use:
You take the Clep Teleport Glasses that are outside Vault 101 on the wood fence. Open up your pipboy and find Clep Teleport Glasses. Click on them and you will be teleported to Clep Home. To leave, click on Clep Teleport Glasses and you will be returned right where you teleported from.

Features:
-31 Labeled and Movable custom storage containers.
-Mostly re-textured.
-Sleep on the operating table.
-All lights can be turned off and on (except the red lights in the bedroom/display area, white lights in storage room and Entertainment room).
-14 brand new paintings.
-Tons of areas to store and display items.
-Navmeshed
-Optomised for performance (broken up into 3 areas, that way if you are in the storage room, the other rooms wont be rendered untill you can look threw the doorway)
-Workbench area
-Lab area (lab and infirmary scripts)
-Mini Deathclaw pet (can't be killed, runs away if shot at, and glows!)
-Fishtank in bedroom
-Auto sorters (Science skill 50 required for item sorting and science skill of 100 required for armor, clothes and weapon sorting)
-Idle markers
-2 games

NOTE: I did the best I could do to try to take care of the companion teleport situation. I really don't know what else to do besides giving new teleport markers for them per glasses. I guess it will just be trial and error with each companion, I am very sorry.

NOTE: Zek gets stuck trying to go up the stairs, but eventually he gets up them. He is a baby, give him time :)

NOTE: If you want to leave clep without the glasses, just open up your pipboy and use the map to teleport. Be warned that your clep markers will be at the last locations when you used the Clep Teleport Glasses.

Wouldn't adding some sort of quest be more fitting? I mean, like you said, people grab everything not nailed down anyway. If the house was not an automatic thing you could get, (say NPC gives you the coat) then it would both validate a sorter and would feel a great deal less like a cheat.

Then just include the code for the coat in the readme for those who don't feel like waiting.. both crowds are then happy.

Might I suggest a different type of activator then a magical cloak?
Considering the pseudo-Science! Fallout employs a small gizmo that teleports you to an abandoned research station that experimented with teleportation might fit the setting much better and appeal to more people.
I know it would for me, being a packrat myself but also trying to stay in a general "fits the setting" area.

Alright people, you spoke and I heard :D I was going to make this simple, but I really like the ideas and I don't want it to fall short of the Clep Reborn I did for oblivion.

-I am going to spend some time with learning to do my own textures so everything matches
-I am going to learn how to make a quest to get Clep
-I am going to try to make most of the items movable so you may move anything around to where you want them placed (including the storage containers, like I did for oblivion clep reborn).
-Thinking of making this bigger, more rooms.

I like the idea of a gizmo instead of the coat, and think I found the perfect item, just have to test it out :) Thank you for the interest!

P.S. Nifskope 1.0.20 is out!

Sometime later today, I am releasing the beta version to get some feedback, and make sure things are in working order for people. You do not need any DLC's (I don't have any of them yet, so I can't test if this will work flawlessly with them). I made and tested this mod using the latest patch for G.E.C.K. as well as the latest patch for Fallout 3.

I actually started fresh because I was trying to work with making the containers movable, and playing around with some new textures... but alas I failed miserably. I am not giving up, but I need more time to master this art. So, this is the simple version of Clep and will be updated as time goes on. I needed this for myself so I can continue to play the game, get more ideas and improve Clep at the same time.

I will upload the new pictures and add the new information when I post the Beta.

Beta is ready *crosses fingers* and I hope everything is ok. This will give me more time to improve and expand Clep once I know things are working ok, or if I need to fix things. If you have any problems, please report them here so that I can have them fixed :)

Thanks for the interest!

@ greenwarden - Thank you very much :) It isn't anything special right now, but hey, we all have to start some place. There are plenty of "real" and much better homes for people to use as their main home. This is for anyone that does not want to leave what ever they are doing just to go back to their home and come all the way back. I hope to learn to re-texture and to sit down with DToms' sorter script and eventually make Clep much better.

@ Yevic - You are 100% correct! There are a lot of things that I look at and really wish I could re-texture. I have started to read up on how to do that. The thing is that photoshop and I don't get along very well, but I love working with paintshop pro. I need to find a work around for that lol.

Modding for Fallout 3 is proving to be a bit harder than it was for Oblivion

31 downloads and no problems have been reported yet, so I guess it is time to work on making some improvements! I have successfully re-textured a container today (changed the color with Adobe Photoshop and made it a new texture) and now I can get really creative. Hopefully after some practice, you will see some containers with actual labels on them. Furniture will have a new color as well.

The following step will be to make the containers movable... but that won't be for a few weeks (hopefully).

I am so sorry for posting again, but I am just so excited about my very first custom texture! I don't mean just a recolor type thing, I mean I actually used the filters to make a whole new texture. The original texture is the framed quote that you see in Vault 101. http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l441/Mysticgaminggal/Clep%20Home/FirstLabel.jpg is what it looks like now that I played around with it (sure hope I can remember the settings I used so I can make more labels)! I need to darken it up a bit but I really love the look :D

Nice first job, and nice mod.
If you dont mind me asking, where are you learning to texture? Just figuring it out on your own, or is someone teaching, or are you using tutorials? Cause I'm trying to learn, and cant seem to find anything. I had no trouble learning to model, just cant find anything to help me learn to texture.

I wish someone was teaching me lol. I am using tutorials and trial and error.

The basics of what I am using is http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Normal_Maps_Basics and http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Retex_Guide.

There is a great tutorial if you use gimp, but I don't. I can post it if you use gimp.

Thank you very much!

[EDIT] As of right now, I have a moving container! I have to work on a better texture (it isn't bad actually, but I have to darken it up a bit and play around with more filters) and make the labels to attach to them for the final touch. I will post the finished result in a day or few :P

Time for your container name requests!

I have made 2 movable containers with names so far. I need some gamers to give me some names of containers that you need and use often.

http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l441/Mysticgaminggal/Clep%20Home/ScreenShot31.jpg
The lunchbox is the base mesh that I edited in nifskope, the foot locker in the back is just a reference for size. The big weapons container is the actual size of the container when you add it to the G.E.C.K, and the armor container is after it is scaled from 1.000 down to 0.7000.

Still here and listening, sorry for the slow reply. My internet was down for a bit. So names? Okay, if you still need em.
Keep in mind these are just suggestions.

~Ammo
~Crafting Supplies
~Mod Items (helps with mods that add a bunch of new things)

~Clothes
-Hats
-Eye Wear
-Bottoms
-Top Wear
-Shoes

~High Caliber Weapons
~Low Caliber Weapons
~Melee Weapons

~Books
~Blue Prints

~Character Specific Gear

~Stims/Drugs
~First Aid
~Junk

~Food (if there is no fridge)
-Pure
-Tainted
-Unique

I'd mention armor, but in FO3 there doesn't seem to really be "light" and "heavy" armor, so one blanket tag seems fine. I'm sure I'm over looking something though. lol

Thank you very much Maholix for the information that you provided :D I had put this project on the back burner since there wasn't much of an interest anymore. I guess it is time to work on it again. I think I am going to start fresh because there were default items placed that I want to re-texture. I am going to make it a tad bigger as well (1 room for the main storage that you teleport to, then other 'living' rooms).

I really wish I could use the placed labels on the movable containers, but G.E.C.K. crashes when I try to add it to the game as one piece. Maybe I have time to play around with a better 'label' look for the movable containers.

I will post any new updates, but I don't have a heck of a lot of time now. I can get an hour or 2 a day though, easily (even if I spend that time with re-texturing one object, it is still progress) .

Going from paintshop pro to Photoshop may seem intimidating, but let me give some advice :)

I also started with paintshop pro 7 way back when...Then a couple of years later I suddenly got my hands on photoshop 7...and oh my god was it a huge change, but it was a good one. Once I grasped the basics I quickly started experimenting to see what worked and what didn't and while most of the stuff I made back then is utter crap in my eyes, I don't regret it. I now use PS CS3 and I'm loving it :)

So if you have time, patience and most of all interest. Then go for photoshop, once you learn it you'll love it.

Then there's also the GIMP...

@ Urge - You are so right about photo shop being intimidating when I was used to paint shop pro! I played around with the filters again today, and am finding myself enjoying them.

I started Clep Home fresh today. I spent time re-creating the movable containers (sizing them in nifskope) and playing around with the right texture look for them. I give texture artists many kudos for the patience they have! These are the containers so far. I am very pleased with the way they turned out. This image shows the pipboy light as the only light resource so you have a better idea of the way they look without any colored ambient light source. The fridge in the back is a clean fridge, gives you a better idea for color and size purpose.

Wow those look great. :goodjob:

I really like where you are going with this and will have to check out the original release...I don't think there is a lack of interest...just maybe the Fallout 3 forums aren't quite as insanely traffic'd as the Oblvion ones...yet.

Quality work, will keep an eye on this one.

@ Rayek - I took the beta version down, but it shouldn't take too long *crosses fingers* before I have a 1.0 version out (unless you meant the clep reborn for oblivion that I made). Thank you so very much for your kind comment! I have been a hidden lurker to your house mod progress, and waiting for all of the goodies.

Ok, I forced myself to make some more containers last night (well until 1:30 am) and this is the list so far of the containers done and placed:

Ammunitions
Armors
Books
Chems
Clothes
Headwears
Kitchenwares
Office Supplies
Schematics & Components
Weapons

The fridge is labeled as Meat Fridge and the Nuka Cola Fridge is labeled as Beverages Fridge, so there will be some foods containers for the other food items. Here is an example of more that need to be made:
Melee Weapons
Small Guns
Energy Weapons
Big Guns
Explosives
Custom Weapons
Favorite Weapons

Weeee! Making my own textures is fun, but still learning, so takes me forever to find just the right look.

Ok, I have http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l441/Mysticgaminggal/Clep%20Home/ScreenShot42.jpg made and placed (there are 4 more on each side of the ones shown in picture). Here is what I have from left to right:
Blank (not named so you can throw anything you want into this one)Companion ItemsCustom WeaponsExplosivesEnergy WeaponsSmall GunsBig GunsMelee WeaponsChemsArmorsWeaponsAmmunitionsFoodsClothesHeadwearsSchematics & ComponentsItems To SellItems To OrganizeJunkQuest ItemsBooksOffice SuppliesMedical SuppliesKitchenwares

Now those are done, I can move onto the 'living' section. I have room for 16 more labeled containers, so if you think of some that you may need made, I can place them.

http://i331.photobucket.com/albums/l441/Mysticgaminggal/Clep%20Home/ScreenShot45.jpg <-- I made this texture to best match the counter below. It isn't perfect, but I think it came out ok after about a 50 try attempt  I may alter it again at another time. Keep in mind, I am only using the pipboy light, so there isn't any real lighting yet (saving that for last).

Just wanted to say that I have been making slow progress on this. I have re-textured a toilet, bathtub, bed, as well as a shelf. It is slow progress because I find little things that slow me down more. For example, right now I have a toilet that you can sit on (just for the real look, sipping from a toilet just grosses me out), but my character looks like a little kid on a big toilet. I have to size it down. It is just little things like that that I have the need to fix. Call me a perfectionist, but I am not pleased unless I find a way to fix even the small little eyesores

Give me time, I will post new images by the end of the week.

Nice...perfectionist is good...makes for nice mods. It's the little things, like "not sipping from a toilet" that make a big difference in the long run. Alot of little things make one big great thing.

Take your time but keep us updated.
