Those are some funny looking scrolls then. Normally people do scrolls with tops and bottoms that look alike, and the scroll doesn't roll out of use one end. Usually they roll out evenly spaced between the holders.

Now, if you wanted to say "that doesn't look anything like a wing", then I would have agreed with you. It doesn't look very airworthy to me, but it was my best guess for what it was.
