"Climb in back and we'll be off"

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 8:09 pm

Carriage drivers have a nice set of replies concerning weather, floklore, common politeness and so forth, but there's only one single line that they say to you once you choose your destination. Could Bethesda please add just that something bit more to add some more environment when you travel? It's boring hearing the same reply over and over and over again. :tes:
I would suggest something like:
  • We'll don't just stand there, get in
  • Too tired to walk then?
  • Get in the back and we'll head off
  • We'll be there before the night falls, jump in the carriage

And so on.

With fast travel being well, faster. And me liking to walk to a place the first time I go there, I think I used carriages a total of one time.

I think with most people, once they visit a place with a carriage there is no need to use to again because of fast travel. I know some don't like to use that but I would say a majority of people use a carriage at most 10 times.

That's a thing with Bethesda. Just like every voice actor has the same line.
They could just swap some words around for every voice actor. That would add so much to the game.

I never use fast travel. Clicking on a map to get there? Come on. I either walk or use legit travelling services. Morrowind had a lot of ways to travel around, Oblivion few, Skyrim has some.

I can't use the cart. I pay them and they never leave even after I get in the cart.

The thing I don't like about carriages is how impatient the driver is.

People who don't use carriages often and say there's nothing wrong with one reply (well there isn't, but it would be nicer if there were more) would probably agree if it wasn't nice if all the vendors had one same reply when you enter the buy/sell dialogue.
