Climb a rock and shoot everything in sight abuse

As people have said, just don't use it if you don't want to.
Sorry if I've already posted here, I can't remember, lol.

Problem is, it's not like a spell or something you choose to get. Just read the post right above yours.

Voted yes, I may be wrong and I know its not TES but if you were unreachable in Fallout 3 most enemies would run away so it looks like beth already knew of the problem.
Lets just hope they improve the AI a bit and have enemies try and flank you or stay out of range till you come down and fight. :toughninja:

exploits like this are something the developers should fix. there is no realism or positive effect on gameplay by keeping this exploit around.

in a perfect elder scrolls game, this exploit would not exist... in my humble opinion

Wow, hot topic. I think it needs to in some way relate to the creature's level of congnition (is that the right word?). It would be great to see intelligent NPCs flee, hide or defend themselves but some wild creatures might frenzy and keep circling the 'rock' until their dead. I don't see an issue with that.

Part of the issue is probably that the player can quite simply get to many places the NPCs just can't. I'm all for my hero being better than the average guy but you have to admit that when we get our acrobatics up we can jump just a bit too creatively.

How would they solve this in an MMO where it does actually impact a wider audience than just effectively cheating yourself. Is it really an issue?

Combat would be so much better with better AI, and I'm thinking it will be, especially since I saw the Skyrim trailer.

They just need to give most NPC's a range attack option (picking up rocks and throwing them will do if nothing else) and decent AI so that they either use a range attack or run away when they can't find a pathing option to get into melee.
