Cloak Energy Drain Issue

Post » Tue Jan 12, 2010 6:25 pm

When I uncloak and then quickly fire, my energy will be drained as if I had fired when in cloak.

Below is a video of the issue. Watch how my energy is drained while in armor mode (look at the sides of my screen).

I have not heard of this issue anywhere else. Does ANYONE else deal with this issue? This is an issue that recurs EVERY game I play. This problem was not present in either of the Xbox360 demos. This needs to be recognized and fixed.

You need to give your suit's nanites some time to switch between stealth & armour modes.

The switch between them is not instantaneous.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure it was intentional. Cloaked players shouldn't be given the ability to pull of split second decisions if they're going to pounce on someone after sitting in a corner all game.

I can understand your reasoning, but half the time whenever I do this, I don't switch to armor mode, I just let it go back to normal/power mode, and my guy is completely visible, though, when I fire off a shot my energy gets completely drained.

Its intentional, similar to armour taking a while to take effect.

Happens to me but I always assume I didn't wait a full second to fire therefore my fault. Most of the time I'll still win though so it doesn't really matter.

If you watched his video carefully, he shot while the hexagons (cloak) were still there. Hence the energy drop.

Use stealth enhance module to give it edge! then transition is twice as fast, otherwise u will have the same issue

The best think to do is put on energy transfer. Apart from being a ballin perk in general if you swap and shoot too fast, once you kill him it restores 100% of your energy anyways (with lvl3). I use it on all m stealth classes and mixed with mobility and stealth enhance it makes a class that will never have to be visible and then enemies become walking suit batteries :)

yeah i had that problem at first, going from stealth to armor to engaging, and i started firing right after i engaged armor mode, and it drained my energy cuz my suit hadnt fully switched to armor. i think it's intentional, you just need to wait half a second longer before firing
