Cloak= overpowered

Post » Thu Nov 11, 2010 3:52 pm

The game is incredibly easy when I'm cloaked and use silenced gun (semi auto mode) to kill the CELL one by one without being decloaked. I think firing silenced weapons should break your cloak as using unsilenced ones, that would make the gameplay more challenging and fun.

Campaign is not supposed to be hard regardless of any intensified difficulty levels.

The game is pretty easy regardless of difficulty due to Cloak.. it was the same in Crysis.

Cloak is very cool on paper but it actually does not make the gameplay any fun at all because you see enemies but they can't see you. That's unfair.

I think Crytek should DITCH the cloak and redesign the nanosuit. Instead of cloak, the new nanosuit has camouflage feature (similar to the suit in MGS 4) that make the enemies hard to spot you but it does not make you completely invisible.

Nope, cloak is fine. It's a part of the nanosuit which can't be justified for removal because its such an intrinsic part of the series.

Campaign on supersoldier is easy enough to run past human infantry, but dealing with tanks and Pingers is significantly more difficult on supersoldier difficulty. At those points cloak and armour both count for very little, and you're back to being almost an ordinary soldier, hiding behind cover and relying on JAW missiles and C4.

you can't defeat Pingers without a cloak. (technically you can, but it's 30x harder)

duh....in halo 3 one person could get it. An upgrade, now you have modules making it seem like your fighting air, and winning fire fights with guys with armor enhance 3, yeah over powered and cloak tracker is under powered.

The cloak is only good on supersoldier for running behind it, as soon as you throw the C4 you have to equip armour and run.. or die.

Cover is a must, and JAW rockets, while not as effective as C4, keep you alive for a bit longer.

Cloak is fine, when you want to play, like you say, only you are messing up your gaming experience. If you want to make rambo, then do rambo. If you want to get cloaked, place C4 at various places, get to higher point and watch the beautiful explosions, this is fun, too. But it really is the same as in Crysis 1. And removing cloak would be the ultimate backstep in this series. Try to play different, and you will have fun. And set it to supersoldier.

My point exactly, cloak is not overpowered.

It's really not.

Post the stats.

At best cloak gives you a second or so of 'WTF' before someone shoots you. Your energy goes with one hit, and you can't attack in any way without losing all your energy, meaning the person you're shooting at, or anyone passing by, can kill you easily if they see you.

If you think its overpowerd in sp..and making your experience 2 easy/boring dont use it. Thats the beauty of the cysis experience... you can play it how you want.

Yes but if I dont use cloak, then the enemies would have no problem spotting me and the fightfires become like COD's which is boring. Stealth is broken in Crysis 2 (I may add Crysis) because you can't hide from enemies without using cloak but when you do, it's no fun because there's no challenge.

On the other hand, games like FC2 which have a lot of bush in which you can stay crouch and hide and try to score headshots with your favorite silenced guns (MP5, 6P9 or dart rifle). Therefore the stealth is much more challenging and fun because you need a lot of patience, skill and experience.

Unfair? There is hundreds of enemy soldiers against me. That's unfair, cloak is just a helper, it doesn't last forever and shooting with it still takes up a lot of energy.
Also using a feature that has been used in another game (camo from mgs) would just cause more complaining from people that already accuse the game of copying all the "original" (sarcasm) shooters out there.

The thing is, this aint Far Cry 2. You're in a nanosuit which, like it or not, comes with an ability to become 'invisible'. Trying to make this less effective so that you get a game more like MGS4 is lame. They're not the same and cloak is part of the nanosuit series.

Plus, you can totally get cloak on MGS4. I completed the game without a single alert and earned the stealth device, which allows you to run through the game on Big Boss Hard with no difficulty on anything but boss fights (you only have to sneak when dealing with Geckos).

..and as for online, I'm yet to see anything suggesting cloak is OP, especially seeing as it's constantly available to anyone, makes the player less resistant to damage, puts your aim out, weakens your offensive abilities and drains twice as fast as any other mode.

Don't forget to mention that cloak has weaknesses against players who are more observant (no, I don't mean people who cheat) as well as the existance of nano vision (which is currently useless but might be adjusted again in the future).

Cloak is not totally invisible on SP. CELL soldiers constantly walk toward me, like they have a sense that someone's there. Godd thing I carry a slienced shotty when I can.
CELL: "What's that?!"
*BA-SINK*
Nanosuit:" NO ONE HERE!"
