Cloakers - The new Plague on Crysis 2

Post » Mon Mar 21, 2011 12:28 am

I personally found if you don't use cloak you get stomped on Crysis's 2 is just like COD the person who see's the other frist wins the fight 90% of the time.

This. Player health needs to be doubled or weapon damage needs to be halved.

Lol no. The health wasn't high in Crysis or Warhead.. or wars, you can't destroy a franchise for the sake of people who don't grasp the concept of tactics.

For an FPS this game has insane amount of health .... though that's when you got armor on. Don't get caugt alone... use cloak to shift postions not unlike the campaign hehe but be willing to go loud a lot. Someone with good aim can kill a lot of people quick.

the tactic of "lol I saw you first bend over, bich!"? Call of Duty tactics? lol.

BTW the player health was fine in Crysis/Crysis wars because the suit was a lot **** better than it is in Crysis 2.

Cloak is used by paranoids. I don't need it, in fact, only when Sniping or to play Assault, but that's it. I could just remove the E button and I wouldn't care and still make 25/6 in IA.

You don't need Cloak, when you know how to navigate through the maps, then it's the invisible opponent that has to bend over, because first, cloak is not purely invisible, and second, you break like glass when shot at in Cloak.

Latter is why I personally don't use Cloak.

Armor mode is next to useless if they see you frist it's not going to save you and running around isn't a bright idea either one shot hit's you and your slowed and a easy kill, most of the time your dead before you even realise somebody is shooting at you.

Armor Enhancement. Any questions?

The energy drain is reduced, so instead of cloaking when running around a corner, I press q and in 90% of all occasions, I'm the one who gets out alive.

Played Assault recently, there you HAVE to use Cloak. Level 2 or 3 by now, I don't care about it... Or, really I should, because I have to get it to Level 6 to see the Cloakers again. ;) Visor Enhancement ftw!

Useless to me, it only shows cloakers, and secondly it does only within 15 meters...

Nanovision has its max range too and you have to aim at the enemy to tag him. I just press the right mouse button to... decloak him.

One question: If I tag somebody with visor enhance, will he stay tagged afterwards so I can spot enemies with my sniper rifle? (Teamwork ftw.)

I think you guys must be misinformed about how effective cloak can be. In all of my videos I never use cloak but manage to do just fine. The most of you could probably fair just as well as long as you develop a new way to play.

Shameless proof and self promoting here:

I've told the people who start playing with me to try to use it less

Would be awesome if it would work like that, but Tracker does not show footsteps of cloaked enemies. What a **** design of Crytek.

That's always the case in pretty much any shooter, assuming both players are reasonably competent without lag issues. Don't try and pretend that Crysis is any different.

3 words. Use your Nanovision.
There you go, problem solved. I have nothing against players cloaking, sure it can piss you off once in a while, but so can some douche on crash site that keeps throwing grenades at the crashed pod, even when it's his own team that's in control of it. You just gotta learn to live with it (and eventually kick that dude's ass).

^ not. Nanovision does not solve your problem, when the enemy has got Blind Spot. FYI Blind Spot on III makes you completely invisible in Nanovision.

---> Nanovision useless.

It's funny to see, how most people suggest Nanovision, while they play the Cloaking style. However, Anti Cloak Measures should get buffed.

Nanovison worked in the Demo darn well. It was the damn cloakers that complained that it was OPed, so that crytek decided to nerf it's range to 15 meter. Which is TOO short. It need a range of 30-40 meters to be very viable again but not OPed. Cloak tracker needs to show the cloak 24/7 in a simlar way that you see your allies cloak. Of course it should have a limited range and level 3 gives 24/7 anti cloak protection.

Oh and blind spot only make you less visible in Nanovison....your shadow is going make you stick out a lot. Hence the balance that come with having to decide SE or blind spot?

Buffing cloak tracker would probably sove alot. It would indirectly encourage people to use other suit modes.

The problem isn't dealing with cloakers, that's simple enough. The problem is that the design flaws in modules result in monotonous gameplay when the whole point is that customisation allows for varied styles.
