Cloaking, are CELL more visible?

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 8:25 pm

I've been looking around the discussion and I sometimes see topics on the differences between player skins. Those skins being the CELL and Marines. One glows blue armored, the other glows brown. This aspect is fine, it doesn't bother me because that bright glow makes it visible no matter which side it is. Cloaking, if you are on the same team, one has blue hexagonal patterns, the other has brown hexagonal patterns. Doesn't matter in the least, they are your team mates. However, this next aspect does NOT make sense, as far as opponents go, if you are the Marines, the CELL when cloaked have a blue tinge about them if you are looking upon them in dark lighting(As most of the maps are lit in Crysis 2 MP Maps) and an almost unnoticeable blue tinge in daylight. However, here is where things get a little fishy, if you are a CELL, the Marines when cloaked have almost NO tinge(a very very very very slight brown tinge that I had to play a few games and get myself killed to see) about them if you are looking upon them in dark lighting and NO TINGE AT ALL in daylight. So basically, one would rather be a Marine because A. You are harder to see cloaked and B. You can see the CELL more easily. So here is where the POLL comes in, should it be made so they BOTH have NO TINGE? Because that would at least allow the game to be more fair.

Note: You can post if you would like to share a comment, as always.

Edit Note: I have added a screen shot of said blue tinge.

i found it harder to spot cloaked cell enemies, at least arround bright areas.
i think both teams should have the same glow

If this was actual problem then people would complain about it since day ONE, but they aren't so there is no problem, environment and lighting are changing dynamically and quite fast so moments where your "discovery" is relevant to gameplay are quite rare or unnoticeable.

Yes, well, my "discovery" as you put it, is very noticeable in maps such as Wall Street, EVAC Zone, Statue, and Parking deck(That would be 4 out of 11 maps, more than 30% of them). All very dark lit maps, and all maps that I love being marines on. The thing is, once one has noticed this, you can't help but notice. I can see those blue shadows coming towards me from a good distance away. And this makes it easy for me to kill them quickly, almost like a free kill. All one has to do if first notice, then train one's eye for it(Which doesn't take very long I might add), and noticing the CELL become quite easy. That is why no one has noticed this much so far, but once one does, it becomes easy to see.

without reading everything, enemis cloaking (cell/marine) is same. im sure, saw it often, never knew a difference. i think its just something like "eye-to-brain"-tricking. samelike few guys (like me) cant say exactly which graphic is better, crysis or crysis 2. one story island with koreans and blue ice-firing aliens other story city with cells and alines got more red and walking. i dont have better explaining:D

Make the cloak have no tinge for both CELL and Marines.

The best option ever.

Lol, you're defending that too??? :D

Seriously WarDice, do you think that this game has any bug or some thing that needs to improve?
Because reading you it seems this game is f*cking perfect.

Cloaked CELL are easier to spot, I noticed this in the demo. They also stand out more out of Cloak also.

Take your brain out of your a... and start to think when you read other people post. I simply point out that there is so many whining biches (like you Greebas) all over forum, that if this thing with cloaking was a real gameplay breaking problem then it would be bring on forum since day one. But it wasn't so nobody actually care, but in same time i am not saying that it can be improved/fixed.

Noob. lol.

But he cares, and he has all the right to complain or search a fix.
Maybe is not a gamebreaking issue but he has right to express that here and indeed CELL cloack is more visible as many other people are claiming here.

I don't know what is worse if the whiners and cryers or the cryfappers that take an irrational defense against everyone that speak bad of Crysis 2.

Noob. lol.
And you're calling others "troll"...

You are brain damaged do you? I have pointed out something, not disallow him to speak about it or ask for "fix".

It may be your graphics card and/or driver version for said hardware. I remember something like this happening back in Halo PC. ATI cards rendered the people with the cloak powerup either light blue or completely shiny, whereas Nvidia cards rendered people with the same powerup completely see through until they were within about 5 meters.

Its possible that this is the same issue.

It isn't that, I keep all my drivers up do date. I wouldn't be a very grand Tech Support personnel if I didn't keep my software and hardware up to date now would I? And I assure you, there are no conflicts with my hardware either, I checked online for that, and all of my hardware is pretty high up when it comes to power.

Some screenshots will help too.

I can try, although, it will be hard seeing as my gut reaction is to shoot the blue shadow the moment I see said shadow.

Because completely ignoring post and what was written there, and jumping on something easy to judge as "childish" will make you a winner of this discussion right... lawl :D
I have won this discussion when it didn't even start since your argument to start discussion with me was invalid in first place. Yet even after pointing out why your attend to argue will fail, you still are coming back with your wisdom from trashcan. If you fail to understand reasons why you are wrong, and proving it didn't work, then i don't see reason to treat you seriously.

Ohh and speaking of 12 years old people...
[Hurr Durr Herp Derp]
... calling someone a 12 years old, stating that i can't win discussion and then posting something like this for sure will give you a medal for being most childish in this community. And this is another reason to stop treating you seriously.

A friend and I are going to be getting screen shots of this as proof. I'll edit them into the first post, and this post once I have them.

P.S. This might take a few hours seeing as my friend is busy at the moment, so don't wait on me if any of you can pull off a screen shot.

Here is the screen shot. I could see my friend in cloak like that from a good distance away. Specifically, the building just ahead.
