Im a gamer who likes realism. I prefer simulations to games therefore though I have thorougly for some reason enjoyed all three Crysis games, I have evolved a Cloaking gameplay style for which other gamer realism fans may like so as to keep from gritting their teeth every time they engage full mobile cloak while touting around a full machine gun.
Pretend Crysis 3: If the Device does not have Camoflage, It cant be Cloaked.
You cant run up to somebody cloaked, unsling a JAW, or heft a Mk.60, & expect to stay invisible. Its just too ridiculous. So I pretend some devices can be inductively plugged into the suit thus rendering them cloakable, & some cant. The game seems to bear this out. Some devices have camoflage, & some dont. Even better, the big guns dont, & the smaller guns do. Guns that have full camoflage which I treat as fully cloakable, mobile & using are:
Feline
K-Volt as a sidearm.
Jackal - Crysis 3 adds camo to the Jackal plus what good is an autoshotgun at anything but short range, & you gotta get close enough some how.
Predator Bow - Because youre stuck with it, & I can envision a collapsible bow & arrows fitting into a camo form fitting soft pack, back carried, & because Psycho says so.
Ceph, all weapons - the game makes a big deal out of the nanocharged suit integrating with ceph weapons so lets go with it.
Frag Grenades - theyre small, & fit in the palm of your hand, or holstered.
Sorry, No camo so no cloaking, period.
Grendel
Gauss
Mk. 60
Typhoon
SCAR
HMG
JAW
FY7IM
Partial Cloaking - Either stationary, or mobile.
DSG-1 - little camo but some so stationary which is good for a sniping gun. In other words cant cloak while traveling mobile, but to lean out cloaked from behind a wall to take a shot sure.
Scarab - stationary only. maybe I will change my mind on this one making it full camo. After all it is a carbine.
Marshal - its got a silencer, & a bayonet. Whats the point if you cant cloak, so stationary only.
HammerII - silencer when pulled stationary only, when holstered mobile.
Majestic - holstered cloaked, pulled exposed.
REX charges - mobile only, pulled exposed.
I only carry one primary gun, & a sidearm. I cant imagine carrying a second primary bouncing around on my back, & expect it to stay invisible. Oh yeah, theres all ready a predator bow back there too.
Doing this has forced me to gameplay as an armored soldier at times, rather than as just the stealthy assassin so not only do I not wince at fantastic gameplay, I enjoy the game more now there is more to it.
I was wondering what other gamers thought of this.
