Cloaks.

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:28 pm

I think I speak for alot of people on the Forum when I say we want Capes/Cloaks, I would LOVE to have a Hooded-Cloak, it'd be so fun for travelling characters/thieves/just about anyone.
Discuss.

My Dunmer Ranger will definitely need his weathered cloak.

Same goes for my Dunmer Battlemage :toughninja:

Edit: I am in no-way a Dunmer fanatic... :whistling:

Me, I want a blood-splattered cape. Nothing to fancy, kind of what was in the movie 300. Something that says, "Just try and cut me! Go on, do it!" :toughninja:

I'd like to see cloaks, with all the customization options past Elder Scrolls games have had, that is something that was sadly missing from Morrowind and Oblivion. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see them, because we've never heard anything about them or seen them in any screenshots, and considering that it's been made clear that people want them, I don't think Bethesda would try to hide them if they were in. I suspect that Bethesda won't do cloaks or anything like that until they can accurately simulate their physics, given the "If we can't do it well, we won't do it at all." mentallity Bethesda seems to be applying to some other matters in the game, like mounts, and so far, nothing I've seen indicates that Skyrim will have cloth physics.

Just have hoods as a separate item, and wear it with the cloak.

Said this in the previous similar threads, one extra armour slot for the shoulders would please everyone. Cloaks for rangers, assassins, thieves, and those who need travelling clothes for rp'ing, pauldrons for the Morrowind armour fans, and an extra slot for modders. Everyone is happy, until the complaints about the lack of Havok Cloth start.

That's actually a great idea. +1 to you sir, I think you should make a Topic about that actually, it would solve all/most of these problems about Cloaks and stuffs, Really good idea.

That Topic is mis-titled, Capes. Capes and Cloaks are two different things.

I love how when somebody types '/thread' tt has never ended the thread.

But yes, more clothing and more customization can never be a bad thing.

Yes, unfortunately there are no magic phrases we can use to end threads. It signifies there will be no posts in the future as useful to the OP.

But some people may want to look for a Cloak thread, cause of course if they find a Cape thread while there looking for Cloaks they won't go into the Cape thread. :sadvaultboy:

I always thought cloaks are for travellers, rangers, stealth types, and noblewomen and mages hurrying about the town in the moonlight, whereas capes are for nobleman fops and guys who wear their underpants on the outside. Cloaks yes please, capes no thanks.
Unless we can have rapiers and hats with feathers in, but that's another story altogether.

I would like a cowled robe on which I can push the cowl back to reveal my character's head, and then replace as desired.

This is true--a cloak is a hooded cape. So, a cloak has to have a hood. I think there should be both, but I would always use the cloak. However, I would like to have the ability to put down my hood & have it draqed over my back, if possible...

Capes and Cloaks are two different things.

Not by much.

cape
"garment," O.E. capa, from L.L. cappa "cape, hooded cloak" (see cap). The modern word and meaning were a reborrowing (1565) from Fr., from Sp., in reference to a Sp. style.

cape 1 (ke?p)
— n
1. a sleeveless garment like a cloak but usually shorter
