Clones ARE a thing, but an imperfect science...Gary being a good example.
As for that being how we flash forward 200 years (dialogue in video suggests you were not conscious while in the vault), my theory is...We see the bomb go off, yes? Todd Howard assures the crowd "You DO survive...", you're pulled into the Vault, and are placed in some sort of medical suspended animation containment device, or Cryostasis. It's more than likely one of those two.
If I ever have boy twins, I shall name them Gary. Hee. Not really.
You're definitely a clone and not an android. Think of it as a sort of "organic android". The latest tech created by the Institute to achieve functional immortality.
George Foreman named all of his sons George Foreman, so go for it man!
Please no stupid clone or android storyline... sigh
Haha.. Yeah, he did. They must all feel special now.
Clones generally don't have the same memory or experiences as the original. They have to be taught. At least with Androids, the artificial memory can be rendered or something. Also, I don't know if Vault-Tec would experiment with clones for two vaults. I think our vault will be closer to 112. Instead of virtual reality to preserve the dwellers, it will simply be the cryogenics theme. But who knows.
I don't think the android technology was perfected until long after the Great War. That's Institute tech. Cloning wasn't perfect yet either, which is why it was a Vault experiment in 108. I still think cryogenic freezing or some kind of stasis field is the most likely candidate. Ooh! Maybe the experiment is with salvaged alien technology, and only some of the inhabitants are used for the cryo-tubes. That could help explain why you're the only survivor.
I dunno, have you met any identical twins lately? They're weird. Creepy as all hell.
I'm married to an identical twin.
He is almost an exact copy in image and similar personalities, but they have very different morals and levels of conscience. (Ex. Good and Bad)
(But that is just one experience.)
Gaaaaaarrry....
