I would love a closed beta! My friend and i where talking about this the other day... He believes that an FPS would need a beta of some form or another, where as i was saying that i don't think it's need cause an alpha and family tasting can do the job. I still want one tho! Just to help with the working the kinks.

This is a forum full of people who are really excited about the game. Obviously everybody wants an open beta.

I do like the idea of the Closed beta for several reasons.

1) The more people who test it the more glitches and issues they will be able to resolve before release making it less effort to patch later. On top of that OTHER people outside the company tend to see and pick up problems better than the developers themselves. (It's like essays at uni, you make mistakes but other people are the ones who notice them.)

2) For those who have pre-ordered the game already have a long wait till the game is released so it'd be good if they could have a taste of the game a little

3) It will increase the chance of sales for Bethesda because people will most likely post good statements on it, it will become more known and more gamers will become interested in it.

4) Well who doesn't love betas xD

Open beta would be good... BUT I think it's more fair on people who have already purchsed their copy to have an exclusive CLOSED beta first then later maybe have an open one for those who haven't bought it yet.

I dont mind not having a beta, i would rather spend my spare time doing other things, because when the full game comes out i am officially a hermit

Im cool with betas as long as they're real ( meaning several months before the games actual release). Too many games have "betas" where all you have to do is pre-order to get in. Few actually treat it like a beta and report problems when they are seen or experienced.

So I would love if they made into beta before the end of the year.

Well I guess because their release date is ages away they should have the game pretty much polished by then. It just svcks how much they tease us and feed us with all this excitement and nothing for us to actually do but wait it out...

The question is... who doesn't want a beta. Improves games and fans can try them out.
So yeah, I want a beta. I just hope I could get it (althought so far I have pretty much gotten into every beta I would want to).

I think a closed beta would definately be helpfull. I dont think we need an open beta because most the people in open betas are just playing the beta to have fun and mess around where people in closed betas typically are looking for balance issues and glitches that need to be addressed. I would rather them release a closed beta and the release date be pushed back then them not have one and keep the release date the same because in that closed beta balance issues, map glitches ect at may have been looked over may have been found and addressed and since they didnt have it the game gets released with all these issues that could have been caught or issues they didnt address thinking they werent a big issue but then have a beta and see people abusing that problem that they didnt think they needed to fix.

I'd rather have them delay the game than released a half-assed version early.

I really don't think it'll be half-assed after 3 delays...

Wraith there is no need for that... This is a forum where you can discuss things you would like to see on the game and learn people's beliefs and ideas about the game... If you don't like these post don't read them and post your negative comments, i don't like them or see a need for them. Nikto same goes to you.



No a open beta is not a good idea, we don't wanna see people just playing to see what the games like... A closed beta is the only way this game should be beta'd at all, maybe if you per-ordered on steam, website or on a sub-website you can get beta but that's all.. But before that have a application to apply for beta and the 1 or 2 months after that give it to the players that have per-ordered.. That leaves enough time to uncover most glitches and problems.

and instead of posting on those, they keep making new topics about the same stuff.

so if everyone would be kind enough to (in future occasions) check if there are no similar polls first, it would be greatly appreciated

Its not a discussion its a whinefest. I would be ok with discussing it if we used the dozen other threads we have on this exact same topic. Its a discussion so I am allowed to post my opinons regardless of your opinion on my opinion.

SD has from all accounts enough people in their in house beta test. Would I love to take part in a beta, (censored) yes I would. I doubt it going to happen so until I here someone at SD say, start a petition and if you get # we will have a closed beta. Or open or whatever.
