Cloth Map pre-order UK

Post » Tue Aug 23, 2011 7:07 pm

Anyone managed to find a UK retailer offering the cloth map supposedly for all (North?) American and European pre-orders? Even emailing one of the retailers advertised on this site and asking them if they will be offering it I was told no they will not be, along with a vague sense of they have no idea of this offer.

I'd happily trade it though for the Austrailian one, so I can coffee stain and journal my adventures the pages of the notebook. Not to mention Id get an artbook without the £70 statue I have no space for and still not sure if want.

Haha yeah :P

On topic, I want to know this too, I'm pretty sure they said all pre-orders will receive a cloth map.

There are no cloth maps. Pre-orders (worldwide) will have a "burlap paper" map included inside the case with the game. But burlap paper isn't cloth.

What? You're going to set sail and steer your little island westward to found the Greenlandic Union?

The pre-order map should be available world-wide with every pre-order. It's not a cloth map, though, so that might have caused some confusion. I'm inclined to believe that the retailer you contacted was just wrong.

If you go on the official website and click "Pre-Order", GAME and HMV (both British retailers) support the preorder, so I assmume that includes the bonuses.

All first run copies, in all territories, at all retailers, will include the "burlap like" map.

http://www.game.co.uk/Games/Xbox-360/Role-Playing/Elder-Scrolls-Skyrim-Collectors-Edition/~r356398/?s=skyrim

Nothing mentioning it still, usually have something near the bottom of the summary/details with Pre order Bonus or Exclusive in bold then the item, simalar to the contents of the collectors edition is listed. Occassionally theyve had their own graphics in a box on the page.
Game usually don't shy away from advertising extras.
But re-reading the reply it says there is no "map", not cloth, not paper, not tinfoil. just map, so Im guessing they checked in general, although does this mean game are going round removing standard paper maps out of the boxes too? And we are not participating in any pre-order offers.

Seems like a break down in communication, like game not being told they have theses to give away, or in the first run they will be included in the box and therefore game aren't recieving a seperate box shipment of burlap like maps.

That or Europe no longer includes UK, not like you can blame them for forgeting we're part of it, not like we follow them in actions or are remotely liked by Europe.

I'm pretty sure the European Union isn't governing the distribution of Skyrim. So let's keep off that topic.
