Cloth

With the announcement of Skyrim finally here (I've been lurking the forums like a fiend since the Morrowind release days, but I rarely log in, and I lost my old login years ago when everybody did that one time), the time has come to ruminate about a number of different aspects of the game. One in particular came to mind when I thought of Skyrim as a province.

Skyrim is a place of extremes, and perhaps the most iconic aspect of the region is the emphasis on the wind and the sky. However, regardless of graphic prowess, you cannot, in fact, see wind. What you can see, however, is how things react to it.

Particularly, things like cloth and hair.

As Todd Howard mentioned in several interviews that animation is the weakest part of the old engine and that it's one major point of improvement with the new technology they've been working on, it occured to me that one of the most important bits of animation is that of cloth and hair. In Morrowind and Oblivion, there is none at all; people are simply these strange, rigid statues that morph and bend in order to give the illusion of life. Organic cloth and hair, that is able to flutter in the wind or shift as the character walks and moves, is something that would add a tremendous amount of gravitas to the animation of each character and furthermore illustrate and emphasize the importance of wind in the environs of Skyrim.

I certainly hope this is an included feature.

So, what about you fine ladies and gentlemen? Think this should be as high a priority for the graphical engine as I do?

I want hair that flows in the wind. I've seen Nvidia tech demo's that have shown it being done. Please Beth, be the first to break the concrete hair monopoly.
Also, moving clothes would be pretty cool too. Just sayin'.
