As Momaw mentioned, there's a mod to allow it (or mods, the one I have is Companion Dressup). No use if you don't play on PC, of course.

I have a different Veronica Mod than that, but on the one I use, and maybe the one you mentioned, you still can't remove their stock clothing as in take it from their inventory. Which is what I meant. So, one can not take Boones grunt uniform even if one gives him combat armor. They just put on whatever has the best DT.

I get her a Paladin Toaster if I want her to punch stuff, especially Brotherhood, Power Armor too. I like her ranged for the energy weapon skill, one I never develop. The Chinese Stealth Armor is pretty tight and she does look fine and with an RCW and a pile of ammo ... very deadly. I did see one screen shot with her in Legion Armor and she looked very nice in that for sure.

a mod? if not, how the hell did you get her to wear it? I thought she wouldn't because 'your companion can not wear that faction armour'

If you're really not concerned about her boobs showing or something haha...she kicks arsenal with T-45 Power Armor

I wasn't aware that she'd actually wear anything that left her evem slightly exposed?

Pretty sure boone is the only one willing to wear all the clothing and prosttute/hoker clothing? NOT COOL!

She is so good with ranged weapons, don't forget she has good Brotherhood energy weapon skills, that I just let her and the dog run. I show up later and bash what's still standing. She shoots the baddies off Rex really well.

ooh tou'che.

Where do you find out companions stats and skills? aside from what they tell you they prefer... as in numbers please...

Stick her in T-51b power armor or enclave armor. The only thing that'll knock her down is a big deathclaw, while everything else crumbles. Can't tell you enough about seeing her fight a group of legionaries, and slaughtering them in those two armors during the siege of the dam. All other times, she just plows on through, with ED-E backing her up.

NPCs often don't choose armor and headgear that has the best DT, just as they don't choose the best weapons. They have a completely bizarre set of gear preferences.

NPCs will always, or almost always, choose a Hockey Mask or Cook Cook's Arc Helmet over any other headgeear including T45 helmets.

As for weapons, I'm not sure why everyone gives Veronica RCWs for ranged. I give her Pew Pew. In her hands it's like a Ballistic Fist gone ranged.

Don't followers consume ammo? Pew Pew is a giant ammo drain! I don't have the caps, nor do the merchants have the supply to fuel that many energy cells Pew Pew devours. Even the biggest gas guzzlers are more efficient with their gas than Pew Pew is with its energy cells!

Followers do consume ammo when using non-default weapons, yes. And Pew Pew is a horrible ammo eater. BUT:

1) You don't have to insist on Veronica using ranged weapons ALL the time. The girl loves punching, so let her- especially indoors where punching beats shooting anyway.
2) With the sniper playing style, you take most kills anyhow. V doesn't get to do a lot of shooting OR punching. But on the rare occasion that you need her shooting, you REALLY need her shooting, and puny danage from RCW isn't what you want.
3) If you use guns, you can accumulate many thousands of small energy cells frmo scavenging alone, and convert ECPs and MFS-s into even more energy cells. I have never had supply issues in this game except with duct tape.
4) In my experience, "I don't have the caps" doesn't exist in this game from the moment you reach the Silver Rush, Boomers or you acquire Jury Rigging. Most of the time I find myself with upwards of 50 000 caps, tons of valuable gear and no one to sell it to. Which is why I don't usually gamble- it's the slowest way of getting rich.
5) Fiends respawn.

Umm the only energy rifle that does more DPS is the Tri Beam. The RCW is very accurate, considerably more so that the Tri Beam and in the right hands extremely useful. Ronnie has those hands.

 I was just harping on Pew Pew's tendency to really chew up ammo, and I know caps are so easy to get, I can Scrooge McDuck it.

As listed on Wiki, the RCW has a DPS of 135. Pew-Pew has a DPS of 150 AND higher per shot damage which means a lot against high DT.

Of course, if you take ammo consumption into account, then RCW is about 6 times more efficient...

I have to spend major time to do the stupid Sarsaparilla Stars mission and gather many Stars. I don't do energy weapons myself and I'm not gonna spend all that time for Pew Pew. The RCW is also far more accurate then Pew Pew. I can, i believe, add a recycler to the RCW for 1/4 less ammo use.

You do understand the RCW is an automatic weapon I hope. It has a high rate of fire.

I've never found it to be a problem. I simply pick up any Star cap I find wihle attending to other business, and drink any Sarsaparilla bottle I get my hands on. It's not addictive and doesn't add rads, so there is really no reason to not drink it. From time to time, I check my Star cap count. When it's time, I go get Pew Pew. You need to go there to complete Pressing Matters and Classic Inspiration anyhow, and there's a third quest that puts you in the immediate neighborhood. So why not combine business with pleasure?

The RCW is also far more accurate then Pew Pew.

That's true, but it also means that your V will be engaging targets at longer range, ergo more chances to ruin your sneak.

I can, i believe, add a recycler to the RCW for 1/4 less ammo use.

Does the mod work? I think the Wiki lists it as broken, like many other weapon mods.

You do understand the RCW is an automatic weapon I hope. It has a high rate of fire.

Yes. And one hit from Pew Pew is equivalent to 5 individual hits from RCW, which evens that out.

Sneak ... with Ronnie and Rex? No, not really. ;) Ronnie with an RCW will shoot the baddies off of Rex so well I just follow along and deal with the odd serious situation, Cads, Deathclaws that kind of thing.

The game is not hard for me so I just sneak where I need to. I do like criticals, use the Ratslayer a lot so I can appreciate the 2x crits for Pew Pew.

I don't use energy weapons, I don't even use shotguns, a long time practice in many games, and I don't use heavy weapons. I never use VATS. hardcoe very hard.

Oh yeah Ronnie will be getting a fully upgraded Holorifle pretty soon. I bet she'll like that.

Cheers, good call! lol.]

I also agree with the lack of using EW and shottys, just plain dont like em, nothing a well placed or VATS headshot with the AMR can't sort out!
