They should put that in because i don't think it would feel comfortable running around in a full suit of metal armor in the nvde.

I say sure, but limit enchantments per location, so only 1 chest enchantment whether it is from a shirt or your chain mail I don't care but only one there.

Sure why not, that way I won't need to wear a helmet.

Y'know, for all the praise Morrowind gets for it being immersive, funny how nobody ever things about how bloody impractical it is to try wearing a full suit of clothes under armor, and then over that a full-on mage's-type robe. You'd be like the little brother from A Christmas Story, unable to bend your body more than 30*.

Yeah, you're right. Wearing clothing underneath armor IS impractical. I mean, it's only logical to wear plates of metal with lots of pinching joints against your bare skin.

Hell, if they put this back in I won't even mind having my pauldrons stuck on my cuirass, or gauntlets coming in pairs.

Robes/cloaks/capes over armor is more important to me than clothes under armor, but I'm definitely a supporter of both. I'm sure Beth can come up with a way to limit enchantments and still allow players to wear a wider variety of outfits.

Yes please but make them weightless, or weigh hardly anything.

Yes, please. I'd also love to see clothing layers/styles of dress from Daggerfall reintoduced. Would I like to wear my robe with a hood, or without? Hoods are very seldom seperate articles from the robe.

Well, you typically wear an arming jacket under armor, not a nobel's tunic. :)

And in Oblivion's defense, at least with the iron armor, you could see the armor did include an arming jacket.

And Robes Over Armor!

Yes definitely that's what I was thinking when I first saw this. With most armor it seems like you can't even really see the clothes underneath, but wearing clothes over the armor would be kinda cool, but it would only make sense with robes or tunics (like the OB guards have over their armor.

I was simply criticizing the statement that it is impractical to wear clothes underneath your armor and therefore it should not be included in the game.

Hard coded? No.

It would be nice to upgrade tattered prison garments to more comfortable stuff as you progress during the game.

Heck, it would be amusing to be able to replace your undergarments too. My character isn't going to be wearing a potato sack anymore after being more successful! They don't need to enable nudity for that either. Make the characters Barbie-doll like in the default game and without mods make it so you can only swap undergarments.

Alternatively just give the characters better undergarments to begin with. I didn't realize the silliness of the potato sacks until someone brought it up on these boards within the last few days.

Only if you can see them. otherwise it would just be a way to get more enchantments.

No, you don't want them showing. How would you enjoy wearing nothing but Iron armor in a blizzard? Exactly. That is why we need clothes under armor

We're talking about cloths under and over armor right? I think customization is a good thing. You'd have your undergarments (that you cannot take off), then your normal garments, then your armor, then maybe a robe or something else that would fit over that.

I don't know what all combinations were possible in Morrowind and the other games, but I do know my Morrowind character had cloths, armor, and a robe over that.

It may just be me but I would rather have lepord print diaper sack or what ever it is our characters wear as undergaremts, then clothing underneath armor./ sarcasm, although it would be cool

problem is though, when would you see it? armor and clothes are designed to block off certain parts of the body, while it is true that it isn't totally gone clothes just wouldn't make that much of a difference

Ooo... at least two more possible enchantments that are equipped at one time. I like that!

Not to mention that, if we can combine fur and cloaks with our armor anyhow, this wouldn't be much of a jump anyhow.
