Yes, please. I'd also love to see clothing layers/styles of dress from Daggerfall reintoduced. Would I like to wear my robe with a hood, or without? Hoods are very seldom seperate articles from the robe.

Those were well done. You also had the options with cloaks of which shoulders they would be slung over, and shirts tucked or untucked.

There are valid balance reasons against this. One of the reasons you could become so powerful in Morrowind was that you could wear a full set of clothes under a full set of armor and have enchantments on both.

But that was fun, so screw balance.

This.

Its a single player game, there's no one to balance the PC against, so why stress about ballance? the occasional game breaking element )like the ability to enchant 8 pieces of clothing all with acrobatics skill buffs) is half the fun.

I want to see a situation that requires specific clothes. IE new vegas took weapons away in casinos. It would be interesting if they made clothes play an important socioeconomic role
Yeah, people would perhaps respect you more if you wore more expensive clothing.

Yes, if it is fully concealed when wearing armor.

Just personal preference.

everyone worried about balance of enchantments obviously forgot or don't know how Morrowind dealt with this... and it's a simple one.

Enchantment limit. Each item in morrowind that could be enchanted had a limit to how powerful the enchantment could be based on the material it was made out of.
So a scrappy leather belt could barely contain much, where as an extravagant robe could hold quite a powerful enchantment.

Not to mention in Morrowind you could have on use enchantments (wich rocked) a ring that shoots fire balls? yes please.

Anyways, back to the point. I defiantly want my clothes back. I would also like a cloak/hood, belt and left right pauldrons/gauntlets and robe options too.

the hood sohlud be seperate from helmets too. very cool to have a hood over your helmet.

I would like to be able to wear clothes under my armour, and hopefully they have better hoods as well.

Its hard for those "extra" enchant slots to mean anything if they fix the system.
Constant effect was difficult to achieve and not very strong in morrowind, so if you could do it, why not?
Oblivions enchant system svcked! It was so watered down, so if they fixed it, these "extra" enchant slots really aren't so powerful.

So yes for clothes under armor!
Seriously, in Skyrim who is going to wear steel armor (very conductive) naked? That's just as bad as being bare chested, maybe worse...

Clothes under armour and separate cuirass/pauldrons are both important

and to be fair, the steel armour still would trap in a bit of heat, so it's still better than going barechested.

Can I wear my underwear on the outside. Medieval superhero all the way. And Lasers out of my eyes. No seriously I would wish for clothes. They may have to limit the type and strength of enchantment on particular items of clothing.

Why the hell would anyone vote no!?

If you don't want clothes on under your armor just don't wear them.

hell yes!

i want armor back to the way it was... pauldrons should be seperate from the cuirass... gloves should come seperately just like in morrowind, not paired together... etc.

i would love to wear a few bits of armor here and there, put on a robe/cloak, and all that... the whole mix-and-matching part was one of the most fun things in morrowind, oblivion didnt really offer much customization since most armor pieces came bundled together and you couldnt wear alot of things together... it was so horribly wrong!

Only if you can see them. otherwise it would just be a way to get more enchantments.

Shouldn't be able to hold enchantments (except maybe unique ones?).
But some clothes maybe have builtin and accumulating resistance to frost constant effect (weather clothes)?
While others have builtin and accumulating boosts to personality etc (social clothes)?

Makes me wonder how a hairy chest works with a chainmail :P Medeval version of a brazilian... Oh never mind :D

Only if enchantments were limited, wouldn't want to become too powerful.

There are reasons not to be able to see the any clothing under or robes over armor.... this is a rigging issue, it would be like a lego set where not all the pieces are compatible with each other. I am very sure the art director will be against mismatched outfits seriously clipping though each other. Well as much as possible anyway. The problem is basically going to be mesh shape/dimensions and the skinning. getting 20 outfits to work seamlessly with robes and clothes will be rigging impossibility if you want any sort of visual variation in the meshes themselves.

the easiest solution is not to have a visual representation of anyhthing under a robe or seeing clothing under armor. it'll be tricky one to pull with more realistic graphics and actually using skin. imo it's a big part of why it was dropped after MW

That is my biggest gripe about clothes under armor and separate L/R gloves, boots and pauldrons. It's just too much. At least they stopped loading armor with offensive spells in Oblivion. In Morrowind I was practically an Apache Helicopter. I could levitate over my enemies from one boot shooting Poison from my left pauldron and Frost from my right, Fire emanating from my helmet and a Shock spell in my pants. :hubbahubba:

I'd like it, but I'd definitely want to see some balancing counter-measures for the enchantment issue.

PS

@ the guys complaining that it's unrealistic to wear clothes under armor, you try it and tell us how comfortable it is going bare-chested and donning a metal plate of armor, not the most comfortable thing I can tell you.

Gads I hope so! Have you ever tried wearing steel without clothes? Chafing!!!!!!!

erm...

But really, I could care less. I'm not into all of the "make my character look perfect" stuff  All of the face gen, clothing, etc. just seems like a waste of time except that more people like it than I do; therefore more will buy the game? Dunno, I just don't understand the appeal of it all

So classes that don't wear armor can't have enchantments then? Just don't let people double up per location.
