I'm unshakable. WHCDMA from Skyrim.

Skyrim will be amazing. Don't get caught up in the negativity. It will be flawed, but it will be a serious GoTY contender

I just read the Skyrim article in Playstation Magazine, and it confirms that clothing will be handled as armor has been -

"Clothing will be simplified, with outfits and armor sets coming as a single suit..."

Discuss.

Is this the July 2011 issue? (US edition)?

As long as this actually allows for more NPC's on the screen at one time, I'm fine with it. I want to see crowded cities and marketplaces.

Imagine every single one of them wearing the same 6 suits of clothing! So wonderful.

Arch Linux is.... targeted at competent GNU/Linux users...

I may need a little time before I jump aboard. I just got used to Ubuntu. lol. But I have bookmarked Arch in my Linux folder and I will give it a whirl by the end of the year. Thanks brother! :foodndrink:  :goodjob:

Now back to the MERGER! If we DO get a plethora(hehehe three amigos ftw) of new armour, more so than Oblivion... And the armour customisation is actually cool... And we do see an overall increase(at least 33%+) of npcs on screen... Well, that would be a nice trade off. I just hope that wasnt marketing smoke for our bums though. lol. I still have nightmares about the Radiant AI demos for Oblivion. ::shudders::

No matter what Bethesda says, we are not getting crowded cities. Fallout 3 had even less customization and armor slots and it ran no better than Oblivion. Battles with more than 8-12 npcs ran like crap.

The lots of more outfits than before is probably PR speak too. Merc Grunt, Wasteland Surgeon and Wasteland Doctor look almost exactly the same except the surgeon has slightly more blood than the doctor and the two later have messenger bags. 3 armor sets there!

I can't wait to see the usual suspects bend over backwards to defend this decision. I'm REALLY looking forward to reading those posts.

EDIT: And here's the first one  :

Yeah none of it's a big deal bro. We're all just CRAZY for wanting silly things like customization and multiple pieces of clothing.

The reason it's not a big deal is because we already knew from the fan interview that armor was merged. It was only wishful thinking (myself included) that regular clothing might still be separate tops and bottoms.

Not only is the engine completely reworked, Fallout 3 was not supposed to be crowded. No matter what the actual developers of the game say, there's always somebody who thinks he knows better.

Jesus, it's like the moonlanding all over again. "it's a hoax! We can't get to the moon!"

So, any bad news means it svcks, and any consolation (or good) news is lies which means it svcks.

I wonder how many people would accuse Bethesda of double-speak or lying if they said spears and levitation were in the game.

Oh i'm totally going to stock up on these. And also, no , we won't see anything you mentioned. We will see something very streamlined.

is simplification all they care about?

Nope, all they care about is CASH!!

All mighty green back!

Dolla dolla bills yall!

But I do think they care about making good games. The trouble is that we cant all agree on what that would truly entail. But I have no doubt, Skyrim will be good.

FO3 had 3 extra slots that were unused in the vanilla game. There is no reason why they would not include the same or more in Skyrim.

I'm worried because Bethesda's design idea for the capabilities of their creation kit always was "just the bare minimum of what we need, and maybe some buggy left-overs we decided not to use but didn't have the time to remove from the code yet, but nothing more". See the scripting language, in particular the removal of loops from it between Morrowind and Oblivion, as a clear sign of it.
