Clothing Handled Like Armor

Post » Sun Jul 10, 2011 11:29 pm

Don't you guys read the lore? Unitards are the popular fashion of skyrim.

Seriously though is anyone surprised really? I saw this coming a mile away after the Q&A.
I don't even care about it anymore though, in fact I stopped caring about every change I don't like, they're all just something that mods will have to change for me. I really hope the CK is available day 1 and they leave the armor slots in.

And why are people going on that romance was to blame for this. Yeah because the programmers/scripters/coders or whatever you want to call them really got in the way of the artists with that.

We don't know that you can't. For all we know, there could be "suits" that lack a shirt.

Simplicity, alongside customization, is a man's best friend. This applies to the clothing in Skyrim, AND Linux distributions. I suggest you give Arch a look!

You are absolutely correct. But I kinda doubt it now. Its ok though. Im hoping turning into a werewolf while I sweep the porch of my cabin in the woods with my wife will make up for it.

Why do you all hate this? It's not such a bad thing. Sure, it's not that good, but where were all of you guys when romance was confirmed? Where were all of you guys when children were confirmed? You guys should be freaking out about that, not this.

Why shouldn't we hate it? We can (and have) mod romance, children, even proper menstruation cycles and pregnancies into Oblivion. We can't mod in an armour slot. Unless Bethesda explicitly allowed to define body party and armour slots in the editor this time around instead of having them hard-coded (and the changes of that are very slim), this won't change in Skyrim either.

New features we already had in mods in Oblivion aren't a reason to celebrate; they are just "nice to have", but we would have them one way or the other anyway. Old features which are (so far) not possible to change being removed or "simplified" is a reason to hate them, since we can't un-do the damage Bethesda does there even if we wanted.

... What kind of person would mod menstruation into a video game? o.O

if it's simplified like the armor than that means only shirts and pants will be combined, which is still fail and the majority of the outfit, but oh well..

How do you even get in the outfits? That's what I'm wondering. I mean, you can't fit through the head hole, arm holes or leg holes. And since pants and shirts (and cuirasses/greaves) have been sewed together permanently, how does you character get into them? I guess my characters are just going to have to go around naked.

Each set has a hidden butt flap called the poop chute in slang through out skyrim :hubbahubba:

I like the romance idea. Its realistic. Merged armor...not so much.

Also romance is a choice in the game no one forces you into it. merged armor is no choice. We are being forced into it.

FO3 had 3 extra slots that were unused in the vanilla game. There is no reason why they would not include the same or more in Skyrim.

Im on the Archwiki right now. :hubbahubba:

About the clothing though... Im not troubled per se. But my "everything will be fine" fa?ade is starting to crack. In no way am I regretting my fully paid late december preorder. But... Im getting a yucky feeling. Like what I was feeling before New Vegas. Which I liked(after months of waiting for patches just to be able to play past 8-10 hours), but man that game was a head ache.

O-well. I really wanna see what little surprises BGS has for me. We need a little something nice after some of the disappointing revelations. :cookie:

edit: what the heck... is the "c" in fa?ade taking a little wii... LOL!

Uhhh...When poems rhymed they had such a zing
just to read them aloud was akin to sing
and such cheer to your heart they did bring
so why change it to a prose like thing....TA-DA :twirl:

Skyrim will be amazing. Don't get caught up in the negativity. It will be flawed, but it will be a serious GoTY contender

Im thinking the same thing. Especially since Beth has stated that they were merged after the fact. I guess the slots will still be there for the CK.
