[WIPz] *E.C.F.R. Clothing Replacer/Additions

Post » Sun May 02, 2010 3:09 pm

Still working on getting the preview release finished (polishing up a few robes
and making a few more variations). In anticipation of the release, here is a
look at what I have been cobbling for the Common Sets for the High Elves.
Right now, its just a quick look, really, at what is one style for the High Elf
common robes (as I have at least two more in mind). This particular look
will actually come in two (one with the long white skirt and a variation that
has the lower white portion of the skirt alpha'd out, exposing the trousers
underneath and giving a "tunic" look). This will also be available in a few
colours. Also, a preview of the boot for this set (which will also come in
variety of colours).

(now off to cobble a shop and a clothier to sell all these items :bolt: )

Definitely works nicely for the High Elves. Sort of has a LotR Rivendell feel to it. :)

If those are common clothes, how fancy do the nobles and lords of Summerset dress?

The more expensive the robes get, the more layers/adornments
are applied. So the exquisite level robes would feature alot of
"true colour" silks, gold and silver trims/embellishments, high
collars (and so on). The "common robes", though, are just a
wee bit more expensive than the common robes already in game
;two-fold reasoning there, as 1) common in a foreign province
means a bit more rare in Vvardenfell and 2) though they are
made of simple materials, they are still of Altmer quality (as
such, are percieved as a bit better than the homespun works
on Vvardenfell [at least the High Elves like to think so]). This
holds true for all the Robe/Clothing sets from the Summerset
Isles that I have planned (thus far).

Out of curiosity, what boot mesh is that? That may work much better for Unique Uniques than the vanilla boot models :)

I have a thought-- If you feel interested, maybe you could make some regional Imperial guard armor in the vein of the http://uesp.net/w/images/images.new/f/f9/OB-npc-Chorrol_Guard.jpg from Oblivion (I.E, guards at Fort Moonmoth would wear a different cuirass than those at Forth Frostmoth/Firemoth)? I imagine the mesh you used for that Altmer tunic would work well enough, or perhaps one of Nioliv's meshes? :D

If you don't want to, that's quite obviously fine too :P

I have cobbled an overall surcoat look (a bit more generic
with the Imperial Dragon emblazoned on the front); not set up
as actual armour, though, but a robe so as not to conflict with the
armour that they might already be wearing. I suppose it would be
simple enough to make "moth" emblems with their respective
subcharacteristic for each fort :) . Of course, though, this might run
into conflicts with any anti-cloning guard mod (as I would have
to do a bit more by way of making my own anti-clone mod; a
bit more than intended with this mod, initially, but not out of
the realm of possibility).

Just a quick look at the styles for the second common set of High Elf robes:

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g235/Wesadam/EFCR/WAR_HIGHELF_COMMONROBE02m.jpg

Again, they come in two versions (as shown in the screen, one with a long skirt and one with a more "tunic" style :) ).

It occurs to me how much the vanilla clothes will stick out with all these beauties wandering around. Perhaps you want to do some new textures for Better Clothes? :D :icecream: :D

EDIT: ...And all the clothes unaffected by Better Clothes... and armor... weapons... accessories... Hey, I'm not asking for THAT much! :P

I really think that this is going to be one of my favorite mods once you get all done with it. I can already slightly imagine the aesthetic impact it is going to have on the game - simply amazing.

I love this. I have a problem with my character. She enjoys running around nvde all the time. Maybe with this skirt she'll stop losing her clothes. Then I'll be able to take screenshots of her that I can post without getting a warning from a moderator.

No worries :D

Everything that I make has a male and female version (thought it
wouldn't need to bear repeating at this point, but to save confusion
I don't mind ;) ). So, unless specified otherwise, both sixes will
always be accommodated in my clothing and armour mods :twirl: .

slowly sips coffee while pondering what should be done next
while I have a small amount of time to spare...

The Summerset robes are beautiful, and the style is perfect for the Altmer. If those are the common robes, I can't wait to see what the 'exquisite' ones are like!

After a bit of introspection on the matter, I have created a new
class of clothing for the Summerset 02 set of robes; instead of
a "Common" robe I have named them as "Fine" (which falls
between Expensive and Extravagant). After having a look at
them in game, they did not look very common ( should have
known when I made the trim gold instead of leather :D ). Also,
it helps to make them easier to find in the inventory (as my
naming scheme does not have enough room to be very specific
[regarding colour] in the CS [only so many characters are allowed
in an articles name]).

This would be worn by the guards and low ranking Legion members :) .
Higher ranking members would recieve robes that are a bit more ornate
and of deeper tones (ex. The templar version of the robe would be red
and gold to match the templar armour). The robe, when worn, will
identify you as a member/qualify as a uniform (so that any armour of
your desiring can be worn underneath and still look the part of a legion
member).

Looks awesome, though it isn't really a robe, is it?

Just a suggestion, but perhaps you could remove the plating, otherwise it's kind of wierd it'd give no protection whatsoever.
The player's pauldron will go over the top of the robes anyway, (though at the clavicle, not where your's are, and the greaves would be bare).
So it might not be best to keep the pauldrons (may clip with other pauldrons, or pauldrons being worn might be of differing styles), but instead include them in an armor set.

Just sayin'
Good work mate. The Redguard clothing is my favourite so far.
