Clothing replacer troubles...

Post » Sat Oct 16, 2010 9:33 am

Am with Robert's Male Body v.5. Since where i remember.
Till yesterday all was fine and well.
Suddenly people started appearing as heads only, and shoes. On male NPCs only
Body - at least the parts covered with clothing are missing.
I have Clothing and Armor Stock replacers for Robert for vanilla, SI, OOO, MMM, Fran.
Tha missing parts are from Oblivion.esm

Any idea what I messed now?
Thanks

Edit: Uninstalled Robert male body Replacer and all stock replacers for it, loaded the game - still missing bodies.
Am rebuilding the patch without Robert to see if this fixes it.

Hm. Now you mention it, I had the same kind of problem, a while back, but forgot to mention it on the forums.

I think it was only while using Robert's v5, but I can't quite clearly remember what other mods were being used (apart from FCOM and co.) In my case, it was the Monk's Robe, only or mainly, that was missing. Perhaps something else too, but that's the one I recall.

I don't get that problem nowadays, and I'm also not using (any version of ) Robert's... so yeah, there might be a connection.

I removed Robert Male and all replacers for it. Problem still exists.
Alternatively turned on/0ff Roaming NPCs, Custom Spell Icons and Sentient weapon, problem still exists.
All missing things are from oblivion.esm

honestly, can't think of a reason for the game to misbehave.
Bashed patch?
or is it time for fresh build?

Robert v5 is packed with the stock replacers. There is no reason to download them separately. The version I repacked includes the stock replacers in the one OMOD-BAIN-Ready package. Do you have BSA Redirection checked in BAIN? This is no cause for a fresh build. Install the files, check your BSA timestamps, and check BSA redirection.

While troubleshooying Sentient weapon, I ran several OBB utilities function, apparently messed BSA, now am reinstalling. Will come to the same build exactly.

I continue to invent new, better ways to screw my game.

Did you try the BSA Reset Timestamps function? The only way you would have messed with the BSAs is through BSA Alteration. You do not need any of OBMM's archive invalidation settings. BAIN already has BSA Redirection. A reinstall should not be necessary...

Edit: Actually, the Timestamps function may have caused the issue. You need to get a file redater to make sure the timestamps are as you need them to be.

Just had this problem and I use Roberts 4 (didnt know there was a 5). Thing is, it worked fine on my previous install so I figured it was missing meshes from Armamentarum Complete, turned out not to be the case. So, just to try an idea, I pulled the Archiveinvalidation text out of my data folder ..... now everything works correctly.

Just use BSA Redirection. That text file is high-maintenance. I still think that Blade of Mercy's issue was trying the BSA Reset Timestamps function while troubleshooting Sentient Weapons.

Yeah, I have BSA Redirection checked off. I just think in my case I got sloppy when creating a freshly installed game and dropped the whole folder into data without double checking to see what was in it.

When using one of the more advanced and better functioning approaches for Archive Invalidation (e.g. BSA Redirection as in ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated! or Wrye Bash) ALWAYS delete ALL these "Archive Invalidation.txt" files! Using more than one ways for A.I. at the same time is known to screw up the game. It should even be mentioned in the documentation for said methods, at least I remember having it read there.

Agreed, and using more than one redirection BSA is unnecessary too.
