Cloud Shadows on Landscape?

Post » Thu Jun 06, 2013 7:24 pm

It's been cloudy here for the last few days and when I was sitting at a red light I noticed the shadows of the clouds above passing over.... I was just playing skyrim and for some reason thought of that and noticed the sun was directly over with clouds passing but there was no shadows to indicate it on the ground. Would something like this be possible? I think it would be pretty cool to be up high and see the shadows of the clouds pass over the landscape below, or to even just notice a shadow passing over while out exploring.

I don't think Skyrim's shadows support 'partial' shadows, it's either a shadow or not, meaning your cloud's shadows would be very defined abrupt shapes moving over the ground, which would look terrible. So, I'd say no, but what the heck do I know. :P

I may very well have dreamed it, but i remember somebody actually got cloud shadows working in-game. Due to the shadow system they were horrible pixelated blobs, but they were exactly right.

Not sure what happened with it though. Could have been the ENB guy

Edit

It wasn't a dream!! :ahhh:
