[RELz] CLS CraftyBits OBSE 060 Beta

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:20 am

I noticed it now utilized X-Skills, although I'm happy to see mods using it the current available version isn't ment for anything but tests to be honest. As the TESNexus page indicates there are a couple of problems that can cause the mod (talking about X-Skills) to stop working. If any of the modders is reading this I'd recommend removing X-Skills support for now. Next version will be very differently so it would need to be re-implemented then anyways.

Sorry for the trouble.

For the moment, X-Skills is offered as a method for training up your skills as you go along. However, we also offer an addon that disables X-Skills. You can use it, or not as you choose. Craftybits does not require it in the least to run smoothly. It's merely there as an alternative.

is that the long awaited release everyone was waiting for ? :D

Yes. :) The link Artfact provided is to an official version release.
For the record, CLShade got abducted by reality months ago, poor sod.
Setsuna / kyrielle stepped up, accepted the CB project, and finished v.7.
...which is really huge - many additions and improvements...

Does V.7's ESP still dislike being included in the bashed patch? I moved it below it, but BOSS puts it erm.. somewhere above it XD.

August 2009 dev team consensus -- Bashing Craftybits works fine.

Or perhaps not. Results may vary.

Ah okay, next question then, though it is on the wormwood forums so I shall post the link here.

On another side note, I got an error while trying to bash patch, hold up

Hey,
whenever I enable the mod(even after cleans saves) my console gets spammed by 'Tool Unequiped' messages.
Is this only in my game or a feature of the new version?

'Tool Unequiped' console message spam has been part of CB for ages, including v.7.
It probably depends on where you are / what CB items are present - forge, boards?
I forget which script generates that, but it was annoying, so I commented it out.
(easy enough to do if you're at all familiar with the CS) :toughninja:
The fire searching script is probably another console spammer.
I'm ...guessing... there won't be a huge effort to tidy this up while it's still in beta.
You could suggest console/message cleanup over at The Wormhole...

I'm aware of this, but the newest version is spammed even more, I'm only playing for 1 hour and my ConScribe log is almost 60mb. It will be helpful if you tell us how to comment that message out.

Hmm. This sounds like more than just an annoyance.
I'll forward this topic to the active Wormhole folks.
A solution from them would be better than me trying
to describe how to use the CS. (not used in months)
At the least, someone should know which script it is.

Edit:
Sometimes you just have to mention this stuff where the right people will see it. :)

This mod looks absolutely fantastic, and is something I hoped would someday exist. However, I am having some great issues with it. Whenever I start a save, I either get up a message box asking if I want to be assigned some tools. No matter what I click, the message box just reappears endlessly. I've tried different load orders and glue-files active, and sometimes the message box vanishes and is replaced by another message box asking me to choose a key assigned. I do, and that's when the game crashes. I've installed both COBL, CB and VV now, and I'm afraid I've made a horrible mess of it all. Can anyone help me with a correct load order and what to do here?

Tabris93,

I think a newer version of Craftybits is out now, newer than v.6. If you're having issues with the mod, go here to the Craftybits homepage on The Wormhole:

http://thewormhole.nfshost.com/forum/index.php/board,161.0.html

YOu can post the problems you've come across, at that site. The Craftybits team is still active, over at The Wormhole, and someone will end up helping you over there.

Yes - what Koniption said. And also...
When playing with CraftyBits, the game should be launched using an OBSE Loader.
(not the normal game launcher, though Oblivion Mod Manager might do it properly?)
Just having OBSE installed on your machine is not enough.
Sorry if this sounds overly basic, but I try not to overlook the easy stuff. :)

Oh, sorry ag8796, for not replying to the PM, forgot all about it.

Version 7.0 is the last and had been tweaked to be more stable than the last.

I recommend downloading, testing and seeing for yourself how well it goes.
The system has been made with on-hand approach and logic, natural process in mind.
So, basically, when at loss with what to do: do what seems most natural.
And, of course, when you want to get into a specific kind of craft, buy an instruction book.

All the basics are in the readme-manual to get you started.
But feel free to ask when in trouble.:)
