Cmon people, the game has DRAGONS!

Post » Wed Oct 19, 2011 3:35 pm

Cmon guys how cool is it that we have an elder scrolls game with DRAGONS!!

With all the gripes about how it doesnt have this or that wouldn't be better to look on the brighter side.

The Kick-ass Dragon side.

No doubt, Skyrim will be great.

But as a long-time fan of the series, I can moan about the lack of Werewolves in the Vanilla Version of the game...

Still hyped, though.

We know. They haven't stopped jamming that down our throats since January. They look cool, but not that cool. I'd prefer to see the lore side of them... assuming there is an in-depth lore side to them.

To be honest the dragons are a minor thing for me, I could not care less about them to tell the truth. Im much more intresting in other aspects of the game :)

Missing werewolves is a disappointment, as I would have liked to see them. But it's certainly not a deal-breaker. Dragons or not, it's still an Elder Scrolls game, and I haven't seen them go wrong on a TES game yet. You can't have everything, even in a TES game. For all our praise and worship ( ) Todd Howard and the team at Bethesda are not gods. They can only do so much for us, and I think they do a damn good job delivering us the best game series ever. :tes:

Dragons? Who cares about that? This game has stealth kills.

I despised all the worst things about Oblivion as much as any other disgruntled Elder Scrolls fan, have gotten to know the lore, educated others about it, debated theories, expressed displeasure about all of the game's flaws, lamented the lack of spears and crossbows and throwing weapons in Skyrim, the corner-cutting on certain skills, etc. and so forth, and my opinion is this:

Yes, they do look that [censored] cool. I honestly cannot think of a game that makes dragons look better than this in terms of how they look, sound, animate, and interact with the things around them. Experiencing them firsthand will tell if there is anything lacking about them or if there's something we have to experience to get a true grip on things, but from what we've seen they look amazing. As for the lore: Michael Kirkbride has given Skyrim's lore his thumbs-up. That's good enough for me.

Only when I can be a werewolf, riding a dragon, wielding a giant spear will I be happy! :(

I'd rather have baby corns. They're way tastier than dragon steak.

If you had told people that you wanted dragons in TES and that it was a good thing BEFORE the launch trailer everyone would have dismissed the idea. Everyone thought it was too cliche. Now its your main point. :P

I'm sorry, but I get what the OP is saying.... DRAGONS. I mean, whether or not you want them 'a part of your character' they're there and they're random as they come. They're bosses, but they're not found at the end of some great quest, they come at you when you're least ready and least expecting them. You could be on your way to a minor side quest in another city and BAM!!! dragon takes you off your horse. And they're not easy to beat, by all records.

People wanted dragons in the past...since the older games, now that we are getting them people complain that we have them, and that they are overhyped. :whistling:

Uh yeah, because dragons are the one and only important thing in an open-world action adventure stat-based RPG. Who cares about the world, or quests, or NPCs or anything when you've got DRAGONS, DUH!!!

I sincerely doubt that. People have been asking about proper dragons since before Morrowind was released. The only stipulation I really saw from most people was that they be handled well, and it looks to me like they're giving them the magnificence and gravitas they deserve. Their lore is being expanded upon, they're tough, frightful opponents, they tie directly into the main quest, some of them will talk to you or even aid you, and best of all you can steal their powers for your own personal use. Frankly I look forward to interacting with them and really delving into the mystery of them, as before all we really had about them was a few scant sentences in a few in-game books, a two-minute cameo by a poorly-animated red dragon that died like a [censored], and talk of them in inaccurate propaganda that mentioned them with the same casual tone that one might mention the grass on the side of the road.

Pshh, fighting dragons is sooooo last year. At this point dragons should be a playable character. If I can't make a vampire dragon that spews literal hate at his enemies, than obviously this game has nothing going for it. You know, besides everything else.

As far as gameplay is concerned it should be awwsome. But dragons in and of themselves? Meh, never got the appeal.
