I am currently living in Small Town, USA (seriously, the town is about two blocks big.) and almost everyday, someone uses the Air Raid siren around noon. Does anyone here know why that is? Or am I going to ontinue to be in the Dark about it?

There used to be a weekly air raid or emergency siren test every Saturday at Noon (my collie would howl in harmony with the siren) in the town I grew up in, but I have not heard anything like this in over 30 years.
Is there a plant or factory or mill in town and maybe this is the lunch whistle? Is there a mine nearby and they are blasting?
They do it here as well, it's just a way of testing the alarm and letting the denizens know it's Noon. Not a big deal.
This.
And it's not an air raid signal. It's the fire signal.
