[Relz] Cobl No.15

Post » Fri Dec 24, 2010 3:35 am

I have the Luggage, and I'm trying to use a Summon Luggage scroll, but it just gives the message

You begin to chant the arcane words of the strange summoning, but a dire dread of such horrendous proportions engulfs you, that you find yourself unable to continue.
[Arrghh!]

Am I missing something?

I've not tried the summoning scroll yet, but are you summoning in either an Inn, Home or Camp?

I have embarked on a great important task to document all of the changes Cobl has undergone... but I don't have all of the versions!
If anyone still has some old ones laying about, I need: 1.21-1.26, 1.29, 1.30, 1.33, 1.40, 1.42, 1.49, and 1.56.

Massive thanks to buddah, CorePC, and Vacuity for their donations so far :)

Hey there haama! How's going?

I have several old versions of COBL in my PC. I might possibly have all those you mention.

Confirmation would have to wait until I'm back at home tonight, though.

Well, sadly no. I was being over-confident. I have none of the versions you need... It seems I deleted the older ones since I have only versions starting at 1.45.

I have Cobl_145.7z, Cobl_145_to_155_Patch-21104.7z and Cobl_145_to_157_Patch-21104.7z. Since those, I have nearly all of the following ones.

Best regards,
leandro.

Leandro - good to see the blackhole of work hasn't taken you completely :)
Thanks for checking (I'm surprised you, or anyone, has even that far back - year and a half by now...)

 You can turn it on by opening the console and using prid xx0016ae where xx is Cobl's Load Order ID and then set acquired to 1.

Using OBSE to add foods to cobEatMeatVeggieGrain levelled list

I'm writing a mini-mod for my own benefit to patch the foods from one mod into the cobEat lists so I can eat the local produce (in Silgrad's Forgotten Garden, as it happens, but I'm pretty sure this is a generic issue)

Rather than mess around with the levelled list in the Silgrad mod itself, I decided to try and dynamically add the items from the new mod to the cobl leveled lists using an OBSE script.

I created a new esp in cs with Cobl Main.esm and Silgrad_Tower_T.esp as dependencies.

Then I created a new "Start-game-enabled" quest, calling the script StMdCOBLUpdateScript:
scriptName StMdCOBLUpdateScriptbegin gameMode; Foods:	; AddToLeveledList cobEatDairy ; AddToLeveledList cobEatFruit	; AddToLeveledList cobEatGrain	; AddToLeveledList cobEatMeatCooked AddToLeveledList cobEatMeatCooked StIngrHam	; AddToLeveledList cobEatMeatRaw AddToLeveledList cobEatMeatRaw StIngrMeat	; AddToLeveledList cobEatMeatVeggieGrain AddToLeveledList cobEatMeatVeggieGrain StIngrPie01 AddToLeveledList cobEatMeatVeggieGrain StIngrPie02 AddToLeveledList cobEatMeatVeggieGrain StIngrPieMarasmius	; AddToLeveledList cobEatVeggies AddToLeveledList cobEatVeggies StIngrAshYam AddToLeveledList cobEatVeggies StIngrHacklelo AddToLeveledList cobEatVeggies StIngrScribCabbage	StopQuest StMdCOBLUpdate	returnend

I've only done a few items, of course, for an initial test - hence the placeholder sections.

On testing these in-game, all the items show up in the dinner plate menu, and can be selected. However, the items in the cobEatMeatVeggieGrain list don't work. Every other section gives me my "Yummy, I'm really stuffed" message (Real Hunger COBL 1.6) and removes the item from inventory. My pies don't satisfy, and stay in the inventory.

Obvious test: added the pies to cobEatVeggies instead and it worked fine.
Second obvious test: Upgraded from 1.55 to 1.71. Yup: still happens.

So, this is either a Real Hunger issue or COBL (can't be Silgrad or OBSE, because the pies work on another list).

I don't quite understand the interaction between COBL and RH, but I'd have thought COBL would be managing this.

Is there either a setting I've missed to do with whether the cobEatMeatVeggieGrain list is allowed, or (horror!) have I actually found a bug?

In the short term, I guess all my pies will have to be veggies.

(FX: dons anti-finger-chomping-monkey-god chain mail gloves...!)

Oh, by the way: I've been running COBL for ages and this is the first problem - well done everyone: it's indispensible!

There's was typo in one of the main Eat script - fixed in v172 (thanks to Tekuromoto). Upgrade to the latest (on TesNexus) and it should work.

FX: Snatches fingers out of cage before any monkeys show an interest...!

The TesNexus link didn't seem to work when I tried it a couple of hours ago (no, really!) so I downloaded from PES thinking: what are the odds they've solved my exact problem on the very latest .01 release...! Typical.

Yes, that was it exactly. Many thanks for the swift response: my pies are now suitably nutritious.

A couple of questions came up in another thread, recently: just how many books from Daggerfall have been added by COBL to Oblivion, and how many from Morrowind? This seemed to be the place to ask the experts.

Your guess is as good as mine... there's nothing in the names that separate from each particular game.

I'm probably misunderstanding something. I mean, the COBL team added the books to Oblivion, as I understand it. If they did, shouldn't a list exist somewhere of the books they included? What am I missing, here?

Cobl included books that were contained in two MrDarkSim's mods: MW books and DF books.
They just got different prefixes.
There's no list of which book is from which game.

There are 210 Lore Books in all that I count, but, has Mw or Df books hard to tell without reading them..

What Washington Said..

I see: so whatever books were in those two mods, got ported over. In that case, my running that pair of mods is redundant. Thanks.

What is the proper method of adding new items to the Grinder? I'm a little bit confused.

UESP says:
Note that it is possible to augment the grinder to make it grind additional materials. To do this, define a quest script to operate in tandem with the cobGrinderQ quest script (cobGrinderOS calls uses cobGrinderQ to do the grinding).

But looking at cobGrinderQS says it is obsolete:
;--VERSION HISTORY
; v1.?? Obsolete. Grinders no longer share common script.
; v1.12 First version.

Oh dear Talos - yes, those instructions are very much outdated. I'll try to think of a way to do it - though I don't think it can be done vanilla (so either Bash or OBSE).

In particular, and not saying that you would, only that it's an important rule to remember - DO NOT OVERWRITE THE SCRIPT!!!!
This script will be updated for the next version (adding a number of new ore levels to the script), so an overwrite would destroy those updates.

Certainly, I wouldn't want to mess up anything. Thanks for checking into it for me. :)

I'm trying to install cobl on top of FCOM and I was wondering about some things:

-I used the omod and it installed the hack for FCOM and Item Interchange but it still asked me if I wanted to install OOO_Cobl and MMM_Cobl. As I understand it FCOM_cobl replace those, is that correct?
-In the Bash patch building process it said to check the Item Interchange in Inventory, I leave the rest unchecked(the rest being OOO, MMM, UOP, UOSIP and KUOP), is that right?

Just making sure I'm not messing anything up :P.

Yes if you use fcom_cobl then you do not need OOO_Cobl or MMM_Cobl.

Or you can use OOO_Cobl and MMM_Cobl (see first page for lastest version of that) and not use fcom_cobl. I recommended this option has then the features of OOO and MMM cobl features that swap items work..fcom_cobl does not have this option..

When the next MMM update comes out there will be better intergration of cobl to work across all MMM configs including fcom has well..See the MMM thread I made a announcement about it..

You want to import inventory items from UOP, USIP, OOO, MMM, follow what BOSS states ..

Thanks corepc.

I have another issue(I'm like an issue factory >.>), I used the addon for Frostcrag Reborn and I don't get the Alchemical Sorter when buying the alchemy lab. Well I get the mesh but it appears inactive.
Also the author gives an additional esp for cobl(see http://www.frostcragreborn.com/downloads.html ), is it the same as "Item Interchange - Placement for Frostcrag Reborn" or is it something completely different?

Anyway I currently have "DLCFrostcrag.esp"(the frostcrag reborn one), "FrostcragRebornCobl.esp"(the one on the site) and "Item Interchange - Placement for Frostcrag Reborn.esp" and can't seem to get that Alchemical sorter working.

I can see the plugin is working because I got this:
-In the main level, one of the round tables has a dinner plate together with one silver knife, fork, spoon and mug, plus a little water keg, plus three Morrowind beverages, Telvanni ale, flin and wild guar stout beer. All of these will appear once the library upgrade has been bought.

But no sorter...

edit:
Ok scratch that, apparently what I was looking at wasn't the sorter...I haven't figured out where it is yet...
But I'm still curious to know if the 2 esps are conflicting?

I have tried COBL races and do like the changes. However, the different hair does not lend to my style of play and immersion. Is there a way to get everything BUT hair from this mod? Possibly some Wrye Bash tag? I have the same issue with Blood And Mud and their hair. Any info on this topic would be appreciated.

I have a slight issue with Cobl not replacing some of the ingredient from MMM4OOO's esp:
http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/7137/wryescreen1.png

I'm using OOO and MMM4OOO.
From Cobl I'm using the OOO patch, the MMM patch and also the Tweaks.
From what CorePC said MMM4OOO doesn't have a cobl patch so that may simply be the reason.

* 32 OOO 1.32-Cobl.esp [Version 1.72]
* ++ Cobl Tweaks.esp [Version 1.44]

* ++ MMM-Cobl.esp [Version 1.69]

First try using the updated MMM Cobl posted in post 5 on first page..disable cobl tweaks..rebuild patch..

Else, I am pretty sure this is solved in next Cobl Update. else will make sure..

Has we have pushed Cobl Tweaks changes into either OOO Cobl or MMM Cobl. To avoid compatiblity problems and duplicate iventory items showing up has well. So you will not need Cobl Tweaks with either OOO Cobl or MMM Cobl in future version..

And Next Cobl, MMM Update, MMM Cobl will be better intergrated has well and MMM Cobl will work across MMM, MMMforFrans, MMMforOOO, and UFCOM..

Massive Cobl Expansion coming to MMM Finally..

I updated MMM cobl with the one on the 5th post, removed Cobl Tweaks and ... still 2 blood :P.
After that I loaded all my mods in tes4edit(including the merged ones) to see from which mod the cobl one came from, and it came from MMM-Cobl.esp:

Until the next Cobl I think I will desactive import inventory in Wrye Bash on MMM4OOO's esp(who adds the FCOM blood), hopefully MMM-Cobl.esp replaces that part completely.
