[Relz] Cobl No.16

In 5 days it will be a year since Cobl was last updated! :poke:


I am still holding COBL TEAM hostage , do you want to pay the ransom once again ?

Don't know if i should ask in this thread or not but, If I wanted to upgrade Shadowcrest Vineyard, Millstone Farm and Clamshell Cottage to the Cobl versions will it reset everything I've done quest wise with them or will I be ok?


Most quest information that you have completed etc are stored in save's. So if the Cobl Version formid are different than the Original Version then most likely you would have to redo the quest once again. I would check each readme to see if they state anything about switching from normal to cobl version once again. Else I am not sure do not use those mods.

So long as you don't change:
  • The mod name
  • Any of the FormIDs in the mod (that is, delete and add back the quest and/or script and/or script variables)

it should be fine.

Hi, i'm just wondering whether Cobl silent equip misc.esp causes picking up all items to have no sound effect? although it says that it removes the "you cannot equip this item" popup from trying to equip misc items, i've been having the problem that picking up any items/weapons have no sound effect.

Hehe! I've had to try to turn the guilt on. But I admit lack of activity from my side. :whistling:

I'll check again later today what was on TODO list and do something.

But we better release at least 1.72 and 1/2 before Sunday. And next week I'm going on a trip, so I'll be out for 3-4 weeks. :woot:

Btw. @CorePC, what do you ask for ransom? :)

not sure, i deleted the esp but then chose the wrye option of silent equip...i should try without it and see what happens, as of now theres still no sound effects at all, do you have any ideas as to which mod may cause this?

Oh, the 1/2 version has been out since last year... though at this point it's more like a 1/5 version :hehe:

I've not heard of it causing the sounds to stop. Do you still see the "hmm..." text when you try to equip a Misc Item?

i don't see any message as right now i'm using the tweak in wrye bash to make equiping misc items silent, and deleted the cobl esp, the weapons still have no sound effect. it's definitely a mod causing this but i've no idea which one..

all the volumes are turned up so it's nothing noob i forgot i'm sure, also, just wondering is there any settings in the ini which might've been changed due to installing a mod, which then turned sound effects off when picking up weapons?

Try changing the Bash Tweak from "Blank" to "." (right-click the option in the Rebuild Patch menu).

ok i've turned the tweak off, and also i don't have cobl silent misc equip esp...but theres still no sound effect

omg...another one related to UV, this is it...uninstalling...i'd rather not have those combat moves than all these problems, will wait for UV2 later.

err yeah...after installing 200+ mods it's hard to keep track sometimes...but you're right, my fault, i think due to the large amount of text there i just skipped bits and pieces..i didn't think it would be useful to read...bad idea :|

fwiw, I don't think the lack of equip sounds with UV is in any way a bug - if you look at what the mod does it allows you to throw many game items and dual equip weapons - I don't know how that is handled at all but I would imagine that having equip/unequip sounds playing every time you threw a series of items or unsheathed 2 weapons at once would at very least make for an annoying gameplay experience, but it may just not even be possible to make the game do that.

If I were you I'd have a search for threads on UV and have a look through those before dumping it from your load order. It looks to be quite a complex combat mod and a lot of people seem to sing its praises - it's not for me, I have enough trouble dodging during combat, but it does look intriguing!

Anyways, this is for a different topic, back to COBL....

I'm using Cobl 1.72 and BBC 4-7-1. When I rebuild the Bash patch, the content checker gives the following info:
LVLI

Content Checker:

? When activated, this will check the inventory contents of containers, creatures and NPCs, and the entries of leveled lists to make sure that their entries are of valid types. E.g. it will try to ensure that leveled spell lists only contain spells and other leveled lists.

? If items/entries of incorrect type are found, then they are removed from the container/list. The patch report will list any containers/lists modified and what was removed from them.

I asked in the BBC forum but display name is already in use said "There are no levelled lists in "Better Imperial City.esp" and there is nothing in BC with an Editor ID beginning "cob", sounds more like it's from Cobl to me. Also, assuming those are Form IDs (minus the first two digits) that you're listing, none of those Form IDs exist in "Better Imperial City.esp" either,..."

The content checker is simply telling you it dropped those IDs because they were invalid for the lists they were in. As long as the game loads, it should be fine to ignore it.

How do I display the Cobl Clock? I went to the Options menu and set the format, but isn't much else to change. Is it on-screen or message? If on-screen, where is it displayed? Maybe I have something blocking it. The readme didn't offer any further detail.

Didn't know how or where to do that? There's no INI file either.

Found it. The option started with "Set a reminder...". Once I saw that, I wasn't interested. So I missed the rest which mentions "or set a key". :facepalm: Thanks very much for your help!

Anyone else use the option to disable poison messages when applied to weapons? Well it doesn't work properly with later versions of OBSE. Such as 18 final or 19 beta, the message is still displayed when applying poisons. Am I missing something? If I revert back to older versions, 18beta4 or previous it works fine, no messages. But why have to roll back to old versions for such an option? Especially when other mods simply won't function without 18+. Just thought I'd mention it, not sure if others have already. Would love to see this fixed in future versions, it's a great option.
