CoC reqd for inside Dawnguard or the Falls at the back

Post » Sat Aug 11, 2012 11:09 am

Hi Folks

Every attempt has been made to run Dawnguard but it CTDs on entry, including when only skyrim and dawnguard are running (no mods at all)

Does anyone have a CoC location or any other console command i can use to bypass the doors to Dawnguard so i can speak with Isran ?? Is there a pull Isran to me command ??

Or, is there a way to start the quest WITHOUT entering Dawnguard ??

Any ideas or suggestions will be tried.

Thanks

You can use:
COW DLC1HunterHQWorld -2,-3 to get to the exterior world.
COC DLC1DawnguardHQ01 to get to the interior of Dawnguard fortress

Thanks for the quick reply AND the assistance.

Yes it works brilliantly but unfortunately doesnt circumvent the CTD. Last resort is to copy xbox files etc *sighs* :sadvaultboy:

Thanks again for the info :-)

Have you tried verifying your cache or reinstalling Skyrim?

Have you tried a new game? Sounds like you've been on your saved game a while.. And what would you have to do with the xbox?

Hmmm.... I had a similar problem.

Go into Data\Scripts, and look for mannequinActivatorScript.pex... and remove it if present. Don't delete it, just move it outside the scripts folder. Then try to enter Castle Dawnguard.

On the note of script screwyness...

When attempting to fight the twin frozen-lake-diving dragons, I got hangs and CTDs out the wazoo. I essentially could not fight them, as it'd get snagged within seconds of them breaching the frozen suface. I did something drastic... I removed the entire Scripts folder full of all the loose script files. I felled the dragons, then saved and exited, and then restored the scripts folder. Everything *seems* to be in order, I tested several script-heavy mod-added functions, and they seemed fine... Did that seem like something insane to do? From what I gather, script variables are stored separate from the scripts themselves judging how the screen to value-fill script vars is separate from the actual script editing screen.

I've also had unresolvable crashiness in the Soul Cairn too, and also in the Vale in general before I tangled with the twin dracs. I since have been pretty crash-free in the Vale, but haven't gone to the Cairn since then yet. Makes me wonder if my crashiness hasn't been due to some script all along...

I think I may do a complete deletion of the script folder and reinstall all mods to clear out the folder; I have a feeling a lot of the pex files are abandoned-in-place stuff.
