CoD player fakes murder report, calls swat on opponent

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 5:59 am

well that explains why you haven't met one lol

what alot of the more polite and mature players do is "ohh, that guys talkin smack.. lets all mute him... cover my back while I open the menu.. Sniper on the roof", and then get back to playing with a friend or two

Saying "all CoD fans are immature and/or bad people" is like me saying "All Americans are war-hungry".. its not true at all, its just their taste in games, and it neither makes them a good or bad person..

Yes some may be immature kids talkin smack, but many are just hard working men (or women) that just want to unwind after a stressful day at work...

playing the game once or twice and having to deal with a few idiots does in no way mean all the fans who play it are idiots..

Sure... You do realize when I say "few" it means I played the game for a total of three months. It was MW2 at the time. I think that's plenty of time to make an accurate prediction of 90% of the [censored]ers that play that game. I don't see why you defend it, my opinion isn't affecting you.

There's more than just that that's wrong with it, but, it doesn't matter here for the sake of this kid being stupid, childish, and a sore loser apparently. His parents should be so proud.

Would a link to the NY Post covering the same incident help to prove that this is real? http://nypost.com/2014/04/22/call-of-duty-loser-calls-in-swat-team-hoax-on-kid-who-beat-him/

It ridiculous yet real. I've heard that the FBI is now on board to help track down the punk who did this...serves him right.

It's messed up that the Police confiscated the Castillo kids PC, hopefully he gets it back. I bet he has some questionable stuff on there that might get him in trouble though

*ahem* I play some Black Ops 2 from time to time...I don't bother talking crap into the mic and usually mute everyone as I'd rather let my guns do the talking. This "swatting" worries me a bit now because what happens if I rock a room online 1 night and I'm playing with a stupid kid like that? I don't need no SWAT surrounding my house in the wee hours.

Exactly. What's happening to these people? Is no one teaching their kids anything anymore or something?

And, to be fair, I said "some."

This is some of the stupidest stuff i have seen, with all that time it took to call the police, he could have been playing another game, improving, but no, they have to be stupid enough to do this, i cannot see gaining joy, or relief from someone elses misery.

CoD is a foul mouthed babysitter that feeds kids egos, and nurtures their stupidity.

The only thing stupider than that article is the way people in the thread are acting.

I don't care what game you're playing, ninety percent of randoms are going to be abrasive fools. It's the consequence of a "consequence free" environment.

Also, I just turned eighteen an hour and twenty minutes ago. Not relevant, just sayinh.

Perhaps we are aware of this, and simply cannot get over the fact, or lie that this article pertains and i cannot truthfully say i would not act a fool in anger, i would like to think atleast i would not do what this article reports on. But i stick to the saying similar to, we can imagine being in someone elses shoes, while being perfectly confortable in our own. Basically, we say we would do one thing, but we dont truely know unless put in that situation.

My question is, how do they know it's a disgruntled CoD player? I mean, did the guy tell the dude he called the swat team on "you [censored], for killing me I'm going to call SWAT on you"?? I mean, if he didn't outright say that, how can they say beyond a shadow of a doubt it's some disgruntled CoD player that was killed in a match that called the SWAT team? I mean, they don't even know WHO it is yet that called them, so that right there says they have no idea if it's a disgruntled CoD player.

Yeah, heard about this happening last year already. I wonder if someone has to die before anything is done about it.

Multiplayer. It's (potentially) lethal  Amazing what some people can get fanatical about.

What is more likely: Some random dude called the police department (using Skype of all things) and fingered this CoD player / victim for murder (while the victim was still playing CoD, no less) or that someone who was playing with said CoD player / victim got beaten badly and used a well-known tactic (SWATing) to get "revenge"?

Pretty clear how Ockham's Razor would apply in this situation.

Enemy SWAT team inbound.

As stated before, I mute everyone in the lobby and don't use my mic for CoD because it's just a pain. People screaming at you, arguments over who was camping, guys saying "that 10 year old stole my care package well I stole his mom" blah blah. Now I'm not saying all players are like this, just a large amount. There is a good amount of mature players if you look hard enough. Same way with nearly every online game. As for the SWAT caller, he needs a good punishment.

Meh, maybe to you, but not to me. It could just have been someone in the guys life that was ticked off at him for something else. As in, someone the guy actually knows. I mean really, what is more likely(to use your own example): Someone who actually knows the guy and knows where he lives and that he has a brother and mother(because remember, the caller said "I killed my mother and brother) is ticked off at him cuz he did or said something and decided to prank him, or some random jerkwad on the internet happens to be just savvy enough of a hacker to find out this guys address, and then just because he lost to the guy, goes "I'm so getting revenge on this guy by calling SWAT".

Yeah, I'm going with the first one, sorry.

Oh, naturally, I just think it's silly to automatically assume it's some random dude the guy beat on CoD. I Mean, I know people are petty and spiteful, but how often are you going to run into a person who is that petty/spiteful and who has the skills to hack someone enough to find out exactly where they live. Especially if it was done on Xbox(not sure if it was or not). To me, it just feels more likely it's someone that the guy ticked off in real life.

Actually 1) ive seen a program that used my IP address and actually displayed my house using google maps.

With 3) i have no idea what the law is there but usually under 18s names are withheld here.

And im just impressed that your police actually respond to anything, wish they'd all move here.
