I find this article to be unrealistic and question its actual Accuracy:

1) how did this player know his Opponents Address? tracing someones IP usually won't give you an exact address
2) if the player who called the Authorities was not a personal Aquintance of the Individual, how would he know the kids name?
3) I am pretty sure there are laws in place so if this story was true, this "Castillo" kid's name could not legally be released to the Public as he is Under the age of 18
4) How would they possibly know that the person who made the call was an Opponent of this Individual, or even plays CoD at all..

explain these 4 points to me and i may consider taking this article seriously..

but Jack, why are all your threads nothing but a link to an IGN story and a single sentence? (seriously, all of them, look at his past threads on his profile) seriously, are you paid by them to advertise or something..?

Saw this on Yahoo. This would be something to open your door to after a long session.

#1-2: It is relatively easy with the right knowledge to find out this information via the Internet, using such things as a person's IP address or even a simple username.

#3: http://www.splc.org/knowyourrights/legalresearch.asp?id=107.

#4: The police probably figured this out on their own, considering they could look up the 911 call, etc. Also it's a well-known "technique" that's been around for years.

There are some people that do indeed throw hissy-fits if they lose. That's one of the reasons why I seldom play online or have chat open. Unless I'm in a party I mute everyone in a match, saves me the headache.

“I told him that there’s a bunch of cops outside that are looking for you.”

That's something I don't want to ever hear!

I think it would be better to parachute him into Kabul and let him see how good he is at CoD in real life.

Not to mention it wastes the SWAT guys' time, when they could be oh, I dunno...catching real criminals.

Just goes to show how CoD players are composed of some of the worst, or just plain stupid, people.

Ha, most of the kids that play that game would die within five seconds.

"Why is my gun so heavy? Why does it kick back so much? What's bullet drop?" Those are just some of the things they'd probably say before getting turned into Swiss cheese. I can go on all day.

you really shouldn't paint an entire fan-base with the same brush..

Alot of CoD fans are actually mature, contributing members of Society..

I'll believe it when I actually meet one. Even some of the "mature people" act like that too. I played the game once and heard some of the crap other guys spewed on that game; it's as bad as the comments section on youtube. Needless to say my time with that game lasted very briefly.
