Code Error Woes!

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:50 pm

So, me, age 23 and college run, wanted to play some Daggerfall which is the only game I haven't played of the series...

Now the problem is...I installed it nice and cream-like and it all runs fine.

When I start a new game, it asks me where I hail from. Being a Breton in the future, I choose High Rock. The game crashes and says that there was an error at Code 209 in the Dagger.snd

I redownloaded it and reinstalled it but I still get the same message.

Either edit the conf file or get a front end like D-Fend Reloaded (googole) and start the game from fall.exe. Beyond that, check the threads in this forum where other people have gone into more detail.

You might also consider trying this utility:

I haven't tried it myself, but it looks pretty groovy. It downloads, installs, and tweaks your settings for Daggerfall automatically.

Downloads from Bethesda's site occasionally become corrupted.. you could try downloading it from another location. Also be sure you are using the most recent version of Dosbox.
