Mostly its about we hope not to see, my greatest fear, ... and negativity. No worry I stop reading here anyway. It's simply to much angst and paranoia about a computer game.

All I'm hoping for is a Mega Man X reference. Just call one of the rogue androids maverick. Just one!
And of course, what will the token android companion be like?
He has an point, they have recorded 1000 names for him after all so I hope for an interesting companion.
Lets for the gods sake hope he don't have two one liners he repeat over and over
Simulated Empathy, his combat inhibitor limits his true desire for Robotic domination.
dun dun dun da-DUN... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpwWYOE3Y9o
So I think its clear to you now the danger he has...
Would be an interesting twist if, after hearing some Railroad screeds, he turned against mankind.
The only thing I wonder about Codsworth is how he survived 200 years. I hope this is explained, instead of just "plot" here he is.
That isn't what I'm worried about. I mean why on earth he not been turned to scrap metal by a raider, deathclaw, mutant, etc for 200 years? Surely, scavangers have been about at the very least, who would no doubt want a Mr Handy. Who wouldn't? Even if you just wanted to sell him, a working robot probably fetch a decent price in the post apoc era.
I can fill in the blanks myself. The 200 post-war years of Codsworth could be a very interesting story:
Codsworth spent years in hiding amongst the rubble in his devastated neighborhood. He kept himself well preserved by picking through rubble and performing self maintenance. After 25 years Codsworth finally came in contact with the emerging humans. Unfortunately it was a band of desperate raiders who captured him and dragged him to their camp. He spent 20 years in raider captivity as an entertainment piece. Juggling, telling jokes, and even used to hold targets for "moving target practice". Codsworth finally escaped during a clash with a rival band of raiders. When he got away he hid out in a junk yard where he salvaged parts to keep himself running longer and tried to avoid humans as best he could, but he was captured again. This time by a group of cannibal hunters that used him as bait for the weary traveler. After the unlucky traveler was caught he was forced to prepare the meals and serve his captors. This went on for 8 years and Codsworth finally managed to escape when a trio of bounty hunters captured the cannibal tribe. Codsworth then made his way to a place named Diamond City where he befriended a local tavern owner. Codsworth enjoying the company of the many customers and his new friend. He decided he liked it there so much he took up work as a bartender. He did this for 19 years until one night the tavern caught on fire during a scuffle and the entire place was burnt to the ground...
Do you seriously think they are going to cover 200 years of Codsworth's background after the war? That could be an entire game in itself lol
Edit: Some explanation would be nice, but I would imagine they will keep it pretty simple.
I don't need Moby dike, just some explanation besides "hey look I'm still here".
I really should learn about posting links ehhh.
You guys know in that Picture of the red rocket gas station (the one with the power armor suit on the car lift) theres a Mr. uhh Broken i guess on the floor kind of on the right. Codsworth ?? being retooled or just a poor fallen Brother. (not sure if has same age damage look)
( I hope he gets a bit follower personality love myself even if its just programmed.)
Starting areas (and obviously this is one) are known for being very peacefull even over a long time. Btw. you can make this thought for every single robot in Fallout games.
That and most Bots are kind of armed that coffee heater on Codsworth might hurt a tad.
" Uhh, Codsworth did you realize that the basemant is full of dead people? In various states of decay."
" Ahh that, I am sorry you had to see it Sir/Mam. So many break in attempts over the years and try as might I could not contact the local authorities or leave the house unprotected. I just stashed them sure when you got back we would take care of the matter, and all the Legal Paperwork."
"The laws on trespassing should make it pretty clear cut but, between you and me Sir, it might be pertinent to get a lawyer. One preferably whose nostrils are not easily offended by some rather pungent odors..."
Robots were pretty rare. Even in NV they aren't all over creation. Plus a Mr. Handy isn't know for his combat prowess. A lot of times you see robots it is in old military bases, were there are a lot of them and security is deadly(to keep away raiders and prospectors), or they were accompanying humans.
Codsworth is a double agent, he's been reprogrammed long ago.. Now he just eavesdrops on our human communications.
Don't worry they've already had a game with Lydia in it, can't see them doing it twice.
lol
ikr.. She had like no story what so ever. The only thing I knew about her was that she was loyal, kind of creepy with all her hovering, and she ate a lot. That's about it.
I may pick Codsworth as a companion. We may be able to upgrade him, which would be cool.
