I looked around, no on else seemed that interesting in talking, I sighed. I didn't know what to do, so I got up against a rock and sat there. I stared out across the wastes, wondering what else could be worth it in this world. What did we fight for? Survival? Freedom? Helping the helpless? I couldn't quite figure it out. I started singing to mysef, a song that my Father always used to sing. I didn't know what the name of it was, but I knew the words off by heart.
"I don't want to set the world, on, fire, I just want to start, a flame in your heart... In my heart I have but one, de-sire, and that one is you, no other will do." I muttered to myself, I smiled, my Dad always used to sing that to my Mother. I felt a tear come to my eye, then trade over. I smiled, I knew that in some way, I'd made him proud. I sighed, then looked around. Everyone else was preparing in some way. Some were fixing their weapons, others were healing their wounds, Ed was simply talking to some of the others.
I knew that Elder Rothchild had made the right choice making him the leader, he was a perfect role model for everyone else here. I'd picked up a lot from him myself, I knew that he'd make it through this. I sighed, I didn't know what to do. I pulled out my rifle and looked at it, reading my Father's name engraved down the side, Reece. I felt the air choke in my throat, I missed him so much. I sighed and climbed up to the top of the rock, looking over, I tried to find where the robot was.
I cursed, it wasn't there, I looked around and I saw a heat shimmer where it used to be... I gasped, it had a cloaking device!!!??? I rushed back down the rock and yelled out to everyone else, "Guys, I think I just found something out, I think that robot can cloak itself!" They all started muttering and Ed walked up to me, he asked, "Are you sure? How did you find out?"
I shrugged, "I saw a heat shimmer where the robot was, but it's gone now." I sighed then walked off to the Vertibird, sitting on the edge, realising that it wasn't even eight yet. I shuddred, wondering how the rest of the day could go.
