First Thread Intro

After the events of Project Purity, where the Lone Wanderer activated the Purifier after destroying Raven Rock, and then the Brotherhood started their war against the Enclave, destroying the Enclave Mobile Base, the Lone Wanderer was sent on a mission with a the Lyons Pride and they never returned. Elder Lyons retired and left to look for his daughter after it happened, and placed Scribe Rothchild in his place. The former elder is presumed KIA. As the best, and most respected Brotherhood members were listed MIA, the Citadel fell into a silent despair worse than ever before. Just as things started to look up, they were plunged back into darkness again. Then, to rub insult to injury, the Brotherhoods worst enemy to this day returned.

The Enclave.

The Brotherhood was plunged back into war again. A war a thousand times worse than it had been before. The Enclave had gathered their remaining troops from all over the US and A to take on the Brotherhood and take the Capital. They made a drastic change in tactics and decided to systematically work there way through the Wastes as one army, rather than a divided one. They brought with them technology the likes of which had never been seen in the Capital Wastelands before, and started a systematic annihilation of all Wastelanders, especially the Brotherhood.

And then, as they moved in on the last bastion of hope, the Citadel, help came in the most unexpected of forms. The Western Brotherhood. If they could not beat the Enclave here they would no doubt come to the West to purge the area too, and they could not allow that to happen, so they stepped in, and sent troops plus ordered the Outcasts back to the Citadel. Now as the Brotherhood once became united again, it was stronger than ever, but so was the Enclave.

It was decided to make a new squad to rival the ferocity of the Lyons Pride. They would take on the Enclave in the most pressing tactical situations and be a Recon team for the main body of the Brotherhood army.

They call it, 'Cold Steel'

And you, soldier, have just been drafted for it.

///SUBJECT: OPERATION STEEL STALKER///

Cold Steel has been drafted with numerous soldiers. The leader: Sentinel Edward Shield. His Right Hand Man: Sentinel Peter Harrow. The soldiers fighting for them are Scribe Nicholas Young, Knight Patrick O'Conner, Initiate Aegus Jordan, Knight Max Daniels, Initiate Vincent Lacroix and others.

After leaving the Citadel on their Vertibird known as Big Bird, the squad was tested by an attack on an Enclave Base in Springvale, where they decided to detonate the base with Micro-Nukes. They found a prisoner in their from the Brotherhood who was being tested on, Initiate Vincent Lacroix. Vincent had an Enclave Super Steroid tested on him and he became very buff and agro, which caused him to attack Sentinel Shield. He has begun treatment for the drugs. We met at the Cache level and I detonated the nukes, to keep it from their grimy hands. I was seriously injured by shrapnel before the blast doors closed and took most of the blast. They escaped too.

The Cold Steel Members then went to Megaton to get drunk, which they had no challenge with. Sentinel Shield and Sentinel Harrow (at the time Paladin Harrow) left the town at 0500 for a walk, and we took our chance, sending a bunch of captured ghouls to attack them. When they were distracted and weakened, we kidnapped them. Mutants shot down Vertibird 347963 and I jumped into the emergency crash pod while the captives jumped from the Vertibird. Survivors of the Crash: 3. Myself, Sentinel Shield, Sentinel Harrows.

There squad came and rescued them, and our backup Deathclaws were killed after one seriously injured Sentinel Harrows. I sent for back up, it should be arriving soon. I escaped with a Stealth Boy and am now running to meet up with Vertibird 01047 1 click north. They don't know where I am.

Our stalker unit tells us there next target is New Raven, we must not let them reach it, our plans there are too important.

Just fill out the above and post it in the thread. Weapons can be in Fallout or Real life weapons, but not too exotic or uber, and not too many. And not too many skills either, cause remember, no uber characters. Ranks are Initiate, Knight, Paladin, Scribe, Sentinel. You must be either a scribe, initiate or a Knight, but the first two to post their characters can be Paladins. There will also be field promotions in the RP, so don't worry that your rank is final, because it probably isn't. Remember, the Brotherhood pooled all of their resources together for this squad so its ok to have some fancy equipment, but not too much.

He knows he is good, and he likes to show it off. He has been described as "the best chance we have" and "a synonym for cocky" by his fellow soldiers. Just returned from a recon mission on a large Enclave base where he took out the whole base by sneaking a grenade into the power generators engineer's pocket.

As I felt myself come back to conciousness I heard discussion about plans, I opened my eyes slowly and found my whole lower body covered in bandages and plaster. I grunted, this wouldn't be good for fighting. I slowly rose, I was a Sentinel now, I might as well show that I was worthy of staying it. I sighed, then walked over to Ed's side.

"Okay, I'm ready to keep going, don't say I'm not, cause I don't care," I said to him, grinning and chuckling, "So, what's the plan? Heading after Autumn or what?"

Patrick was shocked to see the newly appointed Sentinel Harrows get up and ask to fight.

"Your one tough [censored] aren't you sir?" Patrick said to Harrows.

"Sentinel Shields whats our next plan of attack?" he said wanting to take the fight to them.

Edward

He considered our options. Before he had been radioed from the Citadel that they picked up parts of a Enclave Radio transmission from Autumn. There was something about "New Raven", "Operation: Steel Stalker" and "Hot Enclave" and that was all they got. Autumn was gone and apparently something big was happening, and Autumn was their only lead.

"Yes. We are going after Autumn men. A radio transmission said he was going 1 Click North, we have to get there before he gets away. Everyone on Big Bird" he said.

As he lifted the Bird into the sky he noticed 12 dots on the horizion coming towards them. Fast. They were black and flying, obviously Enclave backup.

He hit a button and the rows of seat were quickly transformed into war stations that controlled turrets on the outside of the Bird.

"Man a station men, we have company."

(OOC: No, you don't Aussie)

I streched and sighed, we were heading out pretty quickly, thank god for that, otherwise I'd probably reconsider. I looked at my exposed stomach and sighed, I got into Big Bird and looked through the storage compartment, I found some spare parts for Power Armor and I started attaching it all to my own. Soon I had a kind of exoskeleton around my old armor, now the weak spot would be my stomach, but all the other parts of my body would be over protected. I grinned, then coughed.

I strapped myself into one of Big Bird's seats, I laughed at the name, I looked out and saw the sun gradually rising, I scowled. I looked down at myself, then realised I was missing my rifle, my Dad's rifle. I swore and jumped out of the vertibird, I then ran over to the dead Deathclaw, I picked up my rifle, or the remains of it. I felt myself crumble, looking at my Father's weapon in pieces. I sighed, then noticed the Deathclaw was still moving, I pointed and shot at it, killing. I sighed, I jumped back into Big Bird and pulled out a spare Laser Rifle, using the Spare's parts to repair my own. I nodded at Ed to confirm that I was ready to head out.

Young

The Scribe boarded the Vertibird and took his place at a console station, starting up the weapon and monitoring systems. Tracking down a single person throughout the wasteland would be difficult. With any luck they'll be able to catch the Autumn early before he was able to rendevous with his soldiers. Considering all the different enemies they encountered so far, Young wouldn't be surprised if they run into a Behemoth or Nightkin along the way. Maybe remanent ghouls from the Red Army. Or a giant firebreathing lizard.

As he flipped a few more switches, he let out a deep sigh. This could've been a lot more simpler if the Lone Wanderer had finished the Colonel at Project Purity, or at least detained him for the Brotherhood. Instead a good-meaning heart made this war a lot more bloody.

As they took off, Sentinel Shields had immediately seen incoming Enclave vertibirds.

Great, another seemingly hopeless battle.

Young took a deep breath and took holds of the Vertibird's missile pods.

Patrick boarded Big Bird and took a seat hoping for a smooth ride. Of coarse he was wrong the Sentinel announced that they had vertibirds coming this way. Patrick realised he was becoming somewhat addicted to fighting the enclave.

"Hell yeah I love a challenge." He yelled with a big grin on his face.

He climbed into the turret which was cramped but bearable. Patrick took aim. Their vertibirds came up so quickly he hardly had anytime to react. He just fired hoping he would hit one. It was a lot harder than it looked the other vertibirds were so quick but he managed to clip ones propeller, black smoke poured out, but the bird flew out of his site so he wasn't sure if it had gone down.

(OOC: Gotta go for a little while guys, Francois you are in charge of the RP and Edward ATM. Back later)

I started up the vertibird and we went and flew on out. In sight were some Enclave vertibirds, the other men had already noticed them. "Okay, everyone, get ready!" I yelled out, Pete was just sitting there, fixing up his rifle in a hurry, I envied him sometimes. He had it easy, but then again there were no other turrets left and he had just about died. I laughed, "Nick, you fly it for a while, I'm gonna keep an eye on them from the main part of the Bird." I said to him, walking into the main part, I sat next to Pete, "So, Sentinel, how do you think this'll work out?"

Peter:
I looked up at Ed, I grinned, "Well, I think it could all work out really well if we do it just right, although, I don't that'll happen straight away," I muttered to him, then I started chuckling, "I think our bad lucks already happened, we've almost lost people already, now we should be on a lucky roll!" I then burst out into full on laughing. A couple of people looked back at me and I gave them a grin. Sometimes, being in the Brotherhood was more worth it than sitting in a Vault.

(OOC Haha well I guess its half time.)

(OOC: Yep, I'm back, wanna take on some Enclave guys? Then maybe after that we will go to Tenpenny or Rivet to look for Autumn.)

He noticed the Vertibirds were approaching so he went back to the cockpit and disengaged all the safeties. Then he lined up the Micro-Nuke launcher and shot one at the lead one, taking it out and the resulting explosion took out the one next to it and it spiraled to the ground, landing on a Yao Guai. He laughed and yelled, "Whoever takes out the most Vertibirds gets to punch an Enclave captive in the balls!".

Patrick yelled from his seat in the turret "I hit one but I'm not sure if I destroyed it can anyone see?"

Patrick would love to kick one of the Enclave soldiers in the crouch so he was hoping he would win.

OOC: I'm back, and M'heree, it was me that started the "Wasteland Aussie" sig.

Max strapped in, and quickly spotted the Enclave Vertibirds. He grabbed his Laser Rifle which he had modified to burn deeper into armor and flesh. He was proud of his ingenuity, and started taking shots at the Enclave Vertibirds.

"So Sentinel Harrow, what's it like being promoted? Bet you never thought it would happen did you." Max said, and quickly got distracted by a Vertibird, and started firing several shots at it. "Damn these bastards don't give up do they!"

Max continued firing and tried shooting the pilot on some occasions.

I laughed, "Nah, I didn't expect to get promoted to Sentinel, it's a pretty big honor, also, don't call me sir, please, that'd just be... Well, stupid," I chuckled out, I'd finished with my rifle and I brought it up, aiming and firing at a vertibird's rotor. I gasped, I'd shot it once and it'd burnt straight through the whole rotor! I looked at my rifle and realised what'd happened, I'd added double the mirrors inside it, which mean it'd be a very intense beam. I laughed, "Well, I certainly was not expecting that!"

I looked over at Max, "You know, I've almost forgot that everyone here is from different parts of the Brotherhood, we're all just a bunch of brothers now," I muttered, just loud enough for everyone to hear, "Who agrees with me? I know that I agree with myself, I feel like I've made bonds with all of you, I'll be watching your backs!" I chuckled out, quickly bringing up my rifle and shooting at a second vertibird, managing to take it down in 3 shots, "That's two Birds for me! Better catch up guys!"

Max smiled at Harrow, and nodded a bit. He then quickly got into fighting form again, and shot a wild round at a Vertibird, hitting its main rotor, and tail rotor. The pilot seemed to try and keep it in the air, but it was useless. Max laughed out loud, and pointed at the Vertibird as it fell out of the sky, and crashed into the ground.

"Hahaha, Look at that bastard burn. They won't mess with 'Cold Steel' at this rate! Might as well walk into Colonel whats his face's office, and take him now." Max was getting a little cocky, and then began firing again. Suddenly a exposed Vertibird flew away, but Max had the perfect shot at the pilots head. He quickly took the shot, and the pilots head exploded all over the windscreen. Max laughed again. "These [censored] Enclave are like shooting fish in a barrel. Don't let up or they might try and shoot us down!" Max said firing some more.

"I know I agree Harrows together we are take down these Enclave [censored] once and for all!" Patrick replied as he pumped bullets into a passing vertibird.

"How is Big Bird doing damage wise I don't want our lucky run to end cause this tin can couldn't take a bit of punishment." Patrick was getting a bit cocky now.

Patrick then unloaded into the other vertibirds cabin killing both pilot and co-pilot. It provided quite the explosion.

Edward

He weaved away from the Enclave fire and spun to look at them again, firing a round of laser from the front turret at one of the Vertibirds it exploded in the air. Then as he lined up another shot, he saw one of them fire a Micro-Nuke right at the front of the Vertibird. He couldn't do anything without putting himself in more fire and he watched as it came towards the cockpit window, smashed through, flew through the open cabin door and went straight at Petes head who ducked, leaving the nuke to go straight through the open cargo door the others were shooting through.

"Holy [censored] that was awesome did you guys see that!" he yelled before shooting down the Vertibird before it could fire again. Now there was 4 Vertibirds left.

As I looked out of the cabin, I stopped, I just felt as though something was wrong, I voiced my concerns, "Ah, everyone, has anyone got a sneaking suspicion that this is too easy?" I yelled out to them, I looked along the ground, looking for any movement. I saw none and in the skies were just the vertibirds. I grunted, "Am I over-suspicious or what?" I said to anyone within earshot. I looked out and across the horizon and I stopped. In my vision, just, I saw a kind of shimmer in the sky.

I looked around me, I shook Max's shoulder, I pointed the place I was looking, "Hey, look at that, is that anything? Looks like a heat shimmer..." I looked into the cockpit, Ed was kind of half looking at me, "Hey, Ed, I really think that they're might be something out there, either I have terrible eyes or..."

Max looked over at the direction Harrow was pointing, but was having a hard time figuring what it was. He thought for a moment, but couldn't figure what it was.

"I don't know what that is Harrow, maybe its nothing?" Max wasn't sure 100% but it was odd. "Sentinel Shield, what is that thing in the distance."

Edward

He looked out at the shimmer in the distance and couldn't tell, so he had one of the camera's on the Bird amplify it on a screen and he looked at it.

"It's a... a big robot... or a statue?" he said almost as if it was a question. It certainly looked like a big robot, but he wasn't too sure.

"Pete come up and have a look, I'm not sure what it is."

Max was shocked at Sentinel Shields sudgestion. He looked at the glimmering figure again, it seemed to be growing in size.

"What do you mean Giant Robot, I thought Liberty Prime was the only pre-war robot in service. Where the hell did the Enclave get a robot?"

Max studdied the glimmering robot more and more. It was almost hypnotising.

I walked up and stared closely at it, it did seem to look like a big robot... I started, "You said that HQ intercepted a message? About us and some plan? Well, I think that this is part of it..." I muttered to him, staring at it closely, all of a sudden, the 'robot' raised it's arm and I saw a light, starting to grow at the end of it. It took me a split second to realise what was happening, "Ah, Ed, LET'S GET THE [censored] OUT OF HERE!" I yelled to him, watching the light grow bigger by the second. I gasped as it reached it's full charge, well that's what I thought as it stopped growing bigger.

I watched the light seem to pulsate, then I cursed, "Come on Ed! Out of here, now, freaking, now!"

"[censored]"

Patrick got out of his turret to have a look it was a robot and it was firing at them. Patrick quickly ran back to his seat and strapped himself into the seat. It was about to get bumpy very bumpy.

Max thought for a moment, he was worried. He had never gone up against a robot larger than he was. He was struggling to deal with the fact that they could die in a second.

"Sentinel Shield, should we contact the rest of the Brotherhood at the Citadel, and inform them of this new development."
