Collector's Edition - No Plans At The Moment?

Post » Sat Jun 25, 2011 12:21 am

http://miketorious.wordpress.com/2011/03/30/skyrim-collectors-edition-news-gta-5-news/

I felt this needed a new topic because it disturbs me when Bethedsa says "If/When" in regards to changes on whether there will be a Collectors Edition or not. I also want to judge the response to whether people would buy the regular game and then pay again for a Collectors Edition after the game came out, which I'm hoping isn't the case.

I for one want the Collectors Edition. I'm however not going to wait for it. If they decide to wait and release a Collectors Edition later, they lose out on me because I won't buy 2 copies.

With the release of the news about the Pre-Order special I find it disturbing that the Collectors Edition wasn't announced at the same time. I want the same chance at getting the Premium Map but I'm not going to pre-order a game I don't want when I'm waiting for the Collectors Edition.

Please keep in mind that article was from back in March. They weren't worried about what to package with releases back then, they were focusing on getting ready for E3. Give them time, you won't be disappointed.

It really depends on what is in the collectors edition. I remember that the newest Mortal Kombat game had two figurines who could hold together books. Now that is something I would actually use.

Why would anyone buy both editions?

We'll probably visit Gamestop and ask whether upgrading a pre-order to Collector's Edition (if one materializes) would present a problem. If a collector's edition were released sometime after 11/11, I don't see us buying additional copies for the included swag.

I was actually, at first, planning on buying both the regular version for the PC and the XBox Collector's Edition.

I wouldn't buy 2 copies for the same system, but if the Collectors Edition didn't come out until after the release I'm sure some would.

I'm already buying four copies one for me the other three are gifts, and plus if they released a CE after release then yeah i would likely buy it as i have the CE of Oblivion and the GOTY and ill be getting the 5th year anniversary Oblivion as well. I really like TES :tes:.

Erm, most stuff in a CE is useless to me, so I'll pass.

I only bought the OB CE because it was mismarked and cheaper than the regular version. Glad I didn't waste my money on it!

More like why wouldn't they?

OT, if they announce a collector's edition, I'll most certainly pre-order it straightaway. I just wish they can reveal if there will be one or not. It's simple enough really...

As simple as telling us whether werewolves are in :whistling:

Yes, and I'm still waiting for info about a Collector's Edition before I preorder the game.

You can upgrade your preorder to CE at Gamestop. I'm sure you can do that at other retailers too. That's what I'm going to do!

Yes, and,

Both. The collector's edition to collect (a novel concept :P), and the regular one to open and install from.

Whatever they do with the CE, I hope they won't pull a BioWare and make its main selling point exclusive DLC. :brokencomputer:
That said, I'm waiting for the CE and don't see the point in buying 2 copies.

There's been a ton of a demand so it would be rather odd for them not too do a CE. Hopefully we'll get news soon so i can put in my order.

I personally cannot think of a CE that came out after a release date.

I already preordered so I probably will get the Collector's edition. I'm not waiting after 11-11-11 for it though as that would be a waste of time.

Well, it really depends on the content to be honest, but assuming it would be something interesting and not annoying ingame content only(I hate ingame content, I'm looking at you Mass Effect 3), then yes, I'd buy it. Definitely.

This release is on a Friday so it could be different. When pre-ordering from Amazon or others, check to see what the delivery date is supposed to be. I ordered for an in-store pickup at Gamestop to be sure I can play it over that weekend. :)

It would be nice if the CE contained some sort of key for future dlc.. Would make the CE much more interesting

Yes to collectors edition. No to waiting, however I really don't think we will have to. Collectors edition is kind of a tradition with Beth so I feel sure they will have one together before release.

I think the CE annoucment will come after they KNOW that they have enough of what ever they're putting in the box, imagine the nerd rage if the CE got botched because they ran out of septims or castiron dragons.
