I definitely do not want to see in-game "bonus content": had enough problems with Bioware on that front with indifferent content and generally broken mechanisms for activating it.
Traditional collectors' editions are a different matter entirely, though, and the two recent Fallout editions have been rather nice. The various companies out there seem to be upping the ante, too, with Two Worlds II's Royal Edition and Teh Witcher II's Collector's Edition being particularly impressive. So as far as that's concerned, definitely. The more outrageous the better!
The Two Worlds Royal Edition was awesome! It had a ton of physical items in it. A large plastic figure, deck of cards, mouse pad, poster, art book, bonus disc with music and behind the scenes info, and they still managed to put some in game items in too. That is how a collector's edition is done. Most of the others seem lame in comparison.
Bioware and EA have been particularly cheap lately with theirs. This time around with Dragon Age II it was ALL digital items. They couldn't even be arsed to put the soundtrack on a disc so even that is a digital download. :shakehead:
