Collectors Edition in Europe?

Post » Fri Aug 20, 2010 2:17 am

I presume you got it from Webhallen? Their prices are just as bad as the others discussed in this thread.

Still cheaper than Game where I live

Edit: Which is my other option or to go buy it at some serious overprice at regular retail stores

I'm becoming extremely concerned that there may be no PC Collectors Edition in certain countries, in my case the UK.

Looking at the link trekkie put up: http://www.game.co.uk/News/Fallout-New-Vegas-to-get-deluxe-Collectors-Edition/~cA_13638/?pagetype=content It specifically mentions that Xbox360 and PS3 will be getting the collectors edition and makes no mention of PC. Also as mentioned before our nearby French friends have only the Xbox360 and PS3 CE's up for sale, not PC.

This is rather worrying. Am I really going to have to buy the Xbox360 CE and then sell the game itself and buy the PC one?

I think the hold up is about negotiations with potential sellers.

I sent game an Email asking about a PC CE and they said that they don't know weather they will be selling it or not.

i think the case may be that they have got an agreement with bethesda and obsidian to sell the PS3 and Xbox but not the PC version as off yet.

For PC too or just the consoles?

Thanks for telling us, it's good to see that you care.

Appreciate the response Gstaff but it's not particularly helpful is it? I imagine within your position you are able to a least get a steer on what is happening with the Collectors Edition within Europe/UK and particular the PC release. I would suspect that because Amazon US are selling the product that the UK equivalent would also be doing the same?

I know we are many months from the release and am not particularly in any rush to pre-order but providing an idea on whether it is going to be available within the UK on the PC will only aid in improving customer relations.

I would appreciate if you could speak to Pete Hines and or one of his colleagues and determine the release for the UK.

Thanks,
Lea

Any timeframe for the European CE pre-order availability announcement?

Still nothing, but thanks to whoever mentioned Fable III on Play above.
(Not that I particularly want to order from there, recently a lot of my friends are complaining about messed up preorders, and they screwed up my ACII Black Edition).

As for no word yet, guess we just need a little patience.
You know, all good things come to those who wait, (or are American in the case of CEs, haha).

I haven't found any new pre-order options either, I checked 10+ stores last Friday.

I'm starting to feel left out here. My local game dealers don't know anything new either... Bethesda's PR department certainly isn't scoring points here.

bethesda's marketing is looking worse than activision who are over pricing anything if it has modern warfare on it because they know the fans will still buy it thats the same with them knowing we'll buy it anyway and forget about it in a couple of months not caring that a lot of people are getting angry that they're shrugging of an entire continent without giving a reason for it

I have been checking a handful of sites every day. Still no changes.

Amazon.co.uk: Still only the regular version (PC, PS3, 360).
amazon.de: Still only the regular version (PC, PS3, 360).
amazon.fr: The regular version for PC, PS3, and 360, as well as the CE for PS3 and 360.
play.com: Still only the regular version (PC, PS3, 360).
game.co.uk: Still only the regular version (PC, PS3, 360).
gamestation.co.uk: Still only the regular version (PC, PS3, 360).

Will post another update in a week or so, or if I see anything change before that.

No news yet, even though I checked 12 major game stores in Finland and the United Kingdom. I hope that Bethesda will make an announcement next week, because this is getting really annoying. At this point I know there's a whole bunch of people in Finland just waiting for a decently priced CE pre-order option, and once one appears, it'll sell out pretty soon. Puts pressure on me to pay attention, although I'm not really that inclined to check the stores every other day.

its time to face facts europe is not getting a Collectors Edition
if we was getting one
they would have got off there ass and done it by now

it seem there only interested in the USA markets
but this racisum has all way been in gaming
they have always had better release dates,Collectors Editions with more im them
DLC just look at playstation and xbox360 stores the USA versions are much better with more stuff in store
,and more games
when it comes to gaming europe has always come last for these things
and no one interested in the USA in making it fair for once
but saying the the japs do it too

Racism? No. Look up the definition. I don't think they're being prejudice (maybe that's the word you're looking for?).
And Gstaff has said Europe is getting it. They just haven't worked it out yet.

And what about that special edition of Fallout 3 that was only available in the UK?

there are allot more shops in Europe that sell games than their are in the USA and Canada plus there are always more countries and more laws to deal with, this means more work and more time needed to get the CE into Europe.

we still have about 4 months to go so... be patient.

and also...... Obsidian/Bethesda Get the finger out :P

then what would you call it when games companys treat their own countrys better than the rest of the world
or why would the rest of the world have to wait long for game releases instead of world wide release at the same time
it would not kill them to do that
and then everyones happy cos treated the same
the USA have always done it for everything games films computers and meny more
but what i can say for sure is it is unfair

I can be really patient with stuff like this, I get that there's so much that has to be done, but what is starting to get to me a little is how it's been available in the US since it was announced and in the EU we haven't even had a, "Oh, btw, it's taking so long because of 'issue X'."

(Haha, plus I feel stupid since I am an actual massive, massive fan of Bethesda's games and since joining the forums I've only posted in here to complain about them not giving us any info about this).

Nothing in the UK at the moment, still awaiting word on it. PLAY or GAME had an article about the collectors edition, but wouldn't tell me when it got it stock.
