Collectors Edition in Europe?

Post » Fri Aug 20, 2010 1:19 pm

then what would you call it when games companys treat their own countrys better than the rest of the world
or why would the rest of the world have to wait long for game releases instead of world wide release at the same time
it would not kill them to do that
and then everyones happy cos treated the same
the USA have always done it for everything games films computers and meny more
but what i can say for sure is it is unfair

I don't think any country is being treated better than the rest of the world. Is the CE available in other countries? There's usually a lot more to things like this. There could be some legal issue, some economic issue, and some political issue even. Or they could just be having a hard time getting everything settled. You also say the USA has always done this sort of thing. Has it? I honestly don't think it has. Or are you just upset?

And to answer your question; not racism. Racism deals with race. Saying everybody in a country is their own race = saying everybody in that country is different from people in other countries = people seeing people in that country as different = problem. I would call it being prejudice. But I don't think that's what is going on here.

North America only has two nations. The US and Canada. Europe has +/- 50 independent nations whit more or less vastly different laws. It's gonna take time working it out. Also we have what? Three months left, almost four

Off topic Xenophobic, self serving or isolationist would be my choice of words, however this is best said to be true of all countries.

On topic given the current monetary uncertanty of many countries and the current goverment of my own. Spending any extra money on a game which could be used elsewhere is not going to be a priority for me no matter what the CE has in it.

Found one Store in Europe that already lists the collectors edition. GamesOnly.at - Austrian Collectors Edition (uncut) - sadly, this is in German, which would be no problem, if I didn't want the English version.

But at least this gives me hope we might still receive the Collectors Edition English version in Europe at some point. *sighs*

Having checked with the main 3 of the 4 online stores you can get physical copies from in the Uk. Gamestation have stated that they don't have any plans at this time to get the collectors editon. Amazon.co.uk and Game have stated that they have not recieved notification from the publishers about the release date for the collectors edition, and I couldn't find a way to get in touch with Play to ask them.

Also all three ignored the second question about the pre-order bonus packs, which could indicate that the only pre-order bonus pack that will be available will be the one from Steam (which is available to the Uk now).

Although the thread has gone off-topic here, I just thought I'd post to point out that I haven't found any new pre-order options either.

Still nothing showing :sadvaultboy:

Truly hoping we get the full CE, was slightly dissappointed we couldn't get the same for FO3 that the U.S got (with the pip-boy clock). Not extremely so since I hear it wasn't that great, but still annoyed at the inequality.

That was the Survival Edition of Fallout 3 with the Pip-boy clock, which was completely sepereate from the Collectors Edition.

From http://bethblog.com/index.php/2010/07/14/cold-hard-faqs-on-fallout-new-vegas-pre-orders-collectors-edition/
Will other territories be getting the Collector’s Edition and similar pre-order offers?
As already indicated, digital pre-order packs and the Fallout: New Vegas Collector’s Edition are planned for release in other territories. As we have more information to share on this (soon!), we’ll be sure to let you know.
If you’ve pre-ordered from a store in another territory that will be offering digital pre-order packs, you’ll receive whatever pack that store is offering.

I guess that ‘other territories’ includes Europe, even if we are not mentioned specifically. When there is more news I will post again.

Time for another update. None of the cites I am following have had any update in what they have for pre-order.

The following sites still only have the regular version:
http://www.play.com
http://www.game.co.uk
http://www.gamestation.co.uk
http://shop.gameplay.co.uk
http://www.amazon.co.uk
http://www.amazon.de

The following sites have only have the collectors edition for consol:
http://www.amazon.fr
http://www.cdwow.com

The following sires have the Collectors edition for all 3 platforms, but not in English:
http://www.gamesonly.at

The following sites have the collectors edition in English for all 3 platforms, but at an unusually high price. (PC - SEK 799 / EUR 84 / £70 / $107)
http://www.game.se
http://www.webhallen.com

Of all of them only webhallen appear to be offering a pre-order bonus, the cavern pack.

About time for another update. The same sites that was selling the CE before are still selling, and I have not noticed any changes in the price. And the sites that was not selling it before are still not selling it, with one exception.
www.game.dk now has the CE available for pre order for all 3 platforms.

I have noticed no changes of the availability of pre order packs.

And finally a separate update on www.webhallen.com, they are only shipping to Sweden, so unless you live there, can travel there easily, or know someone there who will forward the game to you, the site is of no use to you.

Okay, now I'm feeling a bit confused. I pre-ordered FO-NV months ago...pretty much half a year ago at my local gamestore. It took me the entire week just to find the gamestore that would let me pre-order it that early. (why? Just liked to be the first) They called me up the next day wondering if I wanted the normal version or the collectors edition. That was long before it was even announced there WOULD be a collectors edition coming out and I live in Holland. I asked about the price and they said it would be 80 euro's....
I'll go back there this week to find out what the heck I ordered if it can't be the collectors edition. If it is then it still doesn't hurt to double check.

Seriously Bethesda? Quit treating us Europeans as second best and just announce the CE locations already. I understand Europe has WAY more languages than just the one in America and that Europe has different rating systems which may prohibit what is included, but atleast give us some more information. Two months to go, and no CE info :(

There's still as of yet no places in Europe being said to sell the Collector's Edition, hopefully Bethesda are sorting his out as we speak, I'm sure many people wont be able to afford many games for the rest of year and they'd like to get this CE out of the way as early as possible.... Let's just hope they (Bethesda) announce it this week.

I believe the collectors edition for the consoles at least are available from Amazon.fr, and some of the scandinavian countries have them as well. Technically CD Wow are offering the console collectors edition but it's the US NTSC Format they're offering which won't work with the at least British possibly European PAL format for the consoles.
