My favorite thing about this quest was the Archmage robes for my pure destruction mage. I then read other posts stating that Magicka Regeneration doesn't work during battle, I always wondered why it took forever during a fight. Having Magicka Regeneration isn't very good if it's out of battle since you don't really need Magicka... I like to role-play that's why I used robes instead of just getting good armor. I now have read destruction gets underpowered around level 30+ or level 40+ ect.

Yes, it felt too short for me, and the villain was too predictable.

Agree.

And becoming so important so early ruined the game for my first char. After finishing the college quests I had to go right to the end of the main quests. Just could not use that char to small quests, dont feel right.

Now, Im playing as thief and having lots of fun

@stee_vo: spoiler tags would be handy.

On topic: I felt like the CoW fell a bit short compared to...say DB.

Yes. Too short and simple. Though the ruins you have to explore were pretty nice, and the

Dragon Zombie at the Labyrinthian
was a "nice" surprise ;)

Agree

I did the Winterhold first and everything sounded so urgent I stuck to the progression. Four dungeons later I'm the Arch-Mage even though all my magic skills are under 50.

...no wonder magic is so under powered in current day Tamriel, they'll let anyone be Arch-Mage. :wavey:

I enjoyed it, but I agree it felt a bit short. Also, by the end of it, I didn't feel like I really deserved the position of Archmage.

I actually felt the same way about the Companions and Thieve's Guild quests. I didn't feel like I had really done enough to earn the leadership position.

You should have done the side quests at the college during the main quest line to fill it out. I liked J'Zargo's quest myself, and Ive been doing the book gathering and yet to become arch-mage after 200 days in Skyrim :)

I thought the whole place was pretty boring, including the entire questline. What would be an awesome questline for CoW is to help restore the town of Winterhold, since everyone there blames the mages for it's demise.

Talk to Delvin and Vex and do their quests

The only one really better than oblivion was dark brotherhood. It's also the longest in the game.

I'm enjoying it. I found it a lot more boring in Oblivion.

Restoring Winterhold would be cool though. Right now it's a dump

The only thing I liked about Winterhold College was the building itself viewed from a distance (best sight I've seen so far) and J'zargo.

If it was a mod,I'd delete it.

Pretty much this.
I just done all of the side-quests there to gain there respect and officially make me Arch-Mage.

I agree that the quest line was too short. Some of the people had been training there for 50 years and then I show up and after 4 days I am ArcMage. Also I did not even use magic ... I killed everything with a sword. There should be a requirement of atleast having one magic skill over 80 and combined magic skill of X.

Though I liked the quests and dungeons. They were good, but short.

Yeah it was short, but simple? Hardly. I thought the quests were much more interesting, intricate and challenging than all of the Mages Guild quests from Oblivion, which were painfully boring and easy.

Did you guys do any of the side quests at the College? Almost every NPC has a side quest for you to do, too.

Actually, not posting major spoilers unrelated to the topic at hand would require common courtesy. That was not a cool thing to do, and we do warn for it. Post was deleted.

Yes, it was too short. But at least it wasn't some [censored] crusade against necromancers.

I liked the actual storyline and the college itself. I would agree that it feels too short if you do all of the quests in immediate succession, but I had the same problem with the other guilds and the stormcloak/imperial questlines.

I've found that the best way to play the game is to run everywhere on foot, avoiding carriages and fast travel, and to alternate between the different storylines. It makes things flow more naturally.

Labyrinthian was by far the most interesting dungeon I've visited yet.
