Colonel Autumn

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2011 6:07 am

As the hero of the wastes, I cannot seem to be evil, ever.

So when in Project Purity with Colonel Autumn, I informed him that his President was in fact lying to him when he said that the FEV plan was scrapped.

The Colonel believed me and I let him leave safely. Sentinel Lyons told me, that descision may come back and bite me in the ass.

Does this happen? I have Broken Steel.

And who is the Colonel who dies with your Dad?

Thanks for the help.

He doesn't come back to bite you, although, something cool- if you listen closely to the voices in the "2 weeks later" fade-out you can hear somebody saying "He let him walk away?" incredulously if you let Autumn live. I tend to assume he was killed leading his troops by Liberty Prime or the Brotherhood at some point in the two weeks following the activation of Project Purity.

The colonel who shoots the lab assistant and gets irradiated with your father is Autumn. If you watch closely, he injects himself with something as he falls to the ground. It's assumed to be some kind of advanced Rad-Away/Rad-X, which it would in fact make sense for the Enclave to possess (at least in small numbers).

When I was talking to Eden, and in Autumns room the notes and dialogue indicated that he had been the second-in-command for a long time. But I never noticed the injection.

When the Enclave comes to town and you talk to the Brotherhood guys, they all complain about how much better their tech is, but it really isn't any better at all. The only thing is that some weild plasma weapons, and Tesla gives the Energy Weapons bonus.

Lucky Autumn lived when you said let him leave, Sarah gunned him and his guards down as soon as they neared the door. No need to explain as TheTuninator did an excellent job on that. I do come to think he died while leading the troops somewhere; attempting to push the Brotherhood back or crushed by Liberty Prime.

There are more hints leading to Autumn who was with your father. I believe the president mentions something about him not being the same, after the radiation. Some other small hints I can't quite remember.

[Arrow Slayer, I notice that you have the picture and a quote from a Bioware game on a Bethesda forum, nice work.]

Enclave tech is, in fact, much better overall. It's not represented as well in-game as it is in the lore, but Brotherhood armor has a lower DR, and many Brotherhood NPCs will often have guns while all Enclave soldiers have energy weapons.

I noticed the gun/laser thing, but the max DR on both is 40, right?

Outcast /Brotherhood Armor: +Moderate DR/-1 Agility

Tesla Armor: +good DR/-Helmet gives a -1 to Charisma and Not that big of a Rad Resistance

Tesla much, much better.

I suppose that with Broken Steel, the gap widens as the Enclave guys get Hellfire Armour. 50 DR, best I have ever found.

Unfortunately. In-game, APA Mk II isn't much better than standard T-45d power armor, which is archaic and inferior in-lore. The reason the APA is about the same though, is likely because it can be found anywhere the Enclave is, which is alot of places. They'd have to almost make the armor non-playable if they wanted to give it its true lore stats.

The Brotherhood in-lore, is miles behind the Enclave in terms of tech.

No, there were never "two" Autumns. Eden mentions that the Colonel and him hadn't been seeing "eye to eye" lately.

He survived the purifier incident, in which James killed himself.
