I really was surprised with all the options of crafting we got, that this feature was overlooked. What do you guys think?

There might be a technical limitation, but I would love it if we could mod our weapons with different paint jobs.

I can't think of what it might be if that were the case. We can apply paint jobs to power armor. Could it really be so different?

there isn't a technical limitation it's just recoloring of the weapons or armor. And if this was the case mods wouldn't be appearing with these options. I think it needs to happen personally

Things like this are stuff modders will do for Bethesda. I would prefer it if Bethesda did it themselves, but knowing the modding community, expect that on the nexus in a few weeks tops.

The thing about Power Armor is that the only mod for it that actually changes the physical appearance is the Jetpack, compared to the plethora of mods for each weapon that can change the appearance drastically. I feel like it would be harder for them to implement a paint system that still works when you're swapping out a variety of components instead of just enabling a single component like the Jetpack.

Not really, they could institute new magazines for customizing weapons and armor and they'll be a drop down menu at the workbenches needing materials to make it work. It's not even that complex system at all to create, i mean the new survival 2.0 is far more complex in what they're doing than a paint system.

Sounds great. I'd like to see this implemented, but not with any stat bonus like power armour. As much as I like the stat bonus' on the power armour your more influenced by the bonus than the colour.
