Columbia OOC 7

Post » Mon Dec 16, 2013 2:38 pm

The year is 2082, it has been five years since the Lone Wanderer crawled from Vault 101 and set in course a series of events that changed the wasteland forever. The Brotherhood with the support of the Lone Wanderer assaulted destroyed Raven Rock, dealing a damaging blow to the Enclave. Yet in the light of the attack, the Enclave launched a counter assault upon Citadel, the Brotherhood barely managed to hold the Citadel, many Brotherhood members were lost including the Lone Wanderer struck down in battle with the Enclave leader. Furious at the death of their compatriots and the damage done by Vertibird bombing runs the Brotherhood assaulted the Enclave post at Project Purity. Though the battle was long and costly they managed to prevail and forced the Enclave into a full scale retreat. The few Enclave posts within the wastes were left to fend for themselves until the Enclave mounted a rescue mission. Though the Brotherhood claims victory in the war, the loss of life and destruction wrought prevents either side from truly claiming victory.

In the next five years numerous city states have risen to power. Megaton has grown larger absorbing Springe Vale in the process, while the Outcasts are readying for an attack on the weakened Lyons Brotherhood over its long doctrinal differences. Tenpenny Tower grew to absorbing the Warrington Train complex becoming a regional power while Girdershade has grown into powerful trading hub for incoming Wastern traders, and similarly Canterbury Commos has become a hub for all Capital Wasteland trade. Pitt raids and Paradise Falls slaving runs keep the North in fear, while Talon Co. patrols are seen as far East as the river. Rumors of a Creed of spies occupying The National Archives and a league of ghouls living in the metro spread throughtput the wastes, while travelers and traders sail North from the mysterious land of Point Lookout.

Spoiler
Name: Atlas

History: Atlas doesn't talk much about his past, but rumors persist that he used to be a mercenary from the North while others claim he is a tribal from the West. All people know for sure is that he showed up around the same time as the Crow and Atlas is one of his enforcers among the ranks of slavers. Atlas isn't liked very much by the other slavers due to his job, a unique one but one that was given to him by the Crow himself, protecting the slaves. Rather than keeping them from escaping Atlas keeps other slavers and buyers from abusing the slaves before they are bought and is also in charge of enacting punishment on slavers that disobey orders or fail to perform to the level desired. It has been rumored that in his five years working at Paradise Falls he has killed more than eight slavers after they attacked a slave or failed the Crow.

six: Male

Appearance: Atlas is large and imposing, standing about 6’6” and weighing in over two hundred pounds Atlas is a physically terrifying individual. His skin is somewhat pale and riddled with scars; Atlas has long blonde hair that hangs unkempt around his shoulders. Bright blue eyes draw attention away from his crooked and angular nose which has clearly been broken several times. A firm jaw line and a lack of facial hair complement his somewhat chiseled features. A few tattoos dot Atlas’ muscular body, one of which is a grouping of tally marks on his right pectoral muscle displaying how many people he has killed.

Personality: Atlas doesn't talk much; he doesn't see the need to. He speaks more often with the slaves than he does with his fellow slavers which causes some to believe he may be working with an underground railroad of sorts to free slaves. Atlas is one of the handful of people under Crow’s command that can interrupt any sale depending on the buyer and slave in question. Atlas has also been known on several occasions to kill a prospective buyer for no apparent reasons. A severe rift exists between Atlas and Ymir, the two have been in several fights over the years one of which was so bad the Crow himself needed to break it up.

Skills: Atlas can hurt people; he is very adept at hurting people.

Weapons and Armor: Atlas wears brown leather pants with some extra padding to serve as rudimentary armor and a wears a stylized version of version of the wastehound helmet with only one tuft of hair in the shape of a Mohawk running vertically down his head. Atlas has a wide variety of weapons at his disposal, a leather bull whip he keeps on his waist at all times with his butchers hook, Atlas also chooses whether to use his automatic rifle or fire ax before combat.

Occupation: Guard/Enforcer for Paradise Falls

Faction Allegiance: Paradise Falls/The Crow

Draw backs to Point Lookout posted on last thread

To put an end to this arguing, if you really have a problem with it PM me, we have used up too much of the OOC thread and I don't want another visit from the mods

True however you need to roleplay those drawbacks in the IC, or else they don't really exist at all

Once Henry travels back to Point Lookout these hazards will become more apparent, but yes I was in fact planning on having the USS Ozymandias (For the sake of this RP can I just call it the SS Ozymandias? USS is reserved for government ships, while SS is for any kind) which is currently transporting captured smugglers to sell to Paradise Falls be attacked by pirates on the river. Two crew members would be killed in the fight.

Waiting to talk to Enclave to see what he says. Depending on what he wants to do, chances for diplomacy with Georgetown may be put aside because of the actions of a certain smartmouth city owner. :whistling:

Re-post as I didn't notice a new thread was up when I originally posted this in the last one.

Lt. Andronicus, on 15 Dec 2013 - 07:25 AM, said:

Weren't we going to have someone do Galaxy News Radio Broadcasts just to have general "updates" on the status of the Capital Wasteland and such? Does someone want to volunteer to do that? I think it would be an interesting bit of RPing for Galaxy News to be spouting out news broadcasts about the goings on of the RP.

Otherwise I'd be willing to do it I guess. Even if I absolutely hate Three Dog.

This is my response

I think Three Dog and GNR radio should be considered a mini faction and RP able by anyone however they should inform us before so we don't have two or more posts of him.

Right. I seem to re-call HighElf not minding if Moriarty died provided he could RP Megaton under someone else, obviously we'll wait for confirmation on that front but let's decide now and let's do it in a way that is not OOC post intensive. Post your vote with a pithy summary if need be as a comment in my status, then I'll edit the tally back in here. All okay yeah? If you have any trite comments to make that nary constitute a single-line or two and warrant no discussion then leave them in my status comments.

We need to be sensible about this from now on.

I don't have a huge issue with that, though not sure how it would work. As it stands, the Brotherhood still maintains a rather large presence there. It's basically a second HQ. That and I stated before the GNR is running the Brotherhood's recruitment campaign. Anyone who wanted to take them would have to operate within those perimeters.

That being said, I don't mind at all if someone wants to give a "State of the Wastes" Address.

Thank you, Enclave. Thank you. I've been wanting to say this.

I really, really don't want to lose our OOC because of over-posting and catty arguments. We all need to get along, argue less, post with more meat on the bones, and most importantly post more frequently in the RP than in here, and read each other's posts before we start getting snippy.

Onto the actual RP, I think that having someone RP Three Dog would be great, I even have an interest in it myself. That said, we'd need to determine what he would know or not know.

Also, does anyone have any business to do with the Pitt? I need to know, because I'm trying to plan out a path where I can address those who do.

Enclave: commented

As for Three dog I'm okay with someone roleplaying him... as for stories I assume he will know most stuff that's done out in the open or in places like Colin's Saloon but stuff done in private areas like the outcasts base shouldn't be know Unless said faction informs him (either post or pm)

Merchant Union has a trip planned to meet some pitt people but that is a few days and a trip to Olney away right now..... Unless of course you come to visit us...

Don't think I need to remind people what Ro said. We overuse this thread: We soon won't have an OOC thread anymore.

A lot of the stuff I see people post can be solved through PM because it's individual discussions/arguments between two people. If it's a universal thing, fine. But if this thread moves faster than our IC one it's going to get taken away.

Rivet City might try and contact them about possible trade relations, I'll have to send a caravan with npcs as most of my characters are conversation locked, the same goes for PF and the Crow, and PL for Henry.

I say for Three Dog whoever RPs him should be the first post in the IC thread and then continually updates that post with new announcements so that it is easy to find. Almost akin to tuning into a radio channel, and while I don't have problem with posting more in the OOC than the IC I do think people should read each others posts or else not weigh in on the issue. For example I havn't been able to read all about Mule and Megaton so I will not be voting for what happens.

Also Henry isn't dead

These kind of things below in PMs hence-forth.

I am refreshing my comments section regularly for any updates, it'll all moot until HighElf comes on but I've PMed him so we can go from there.

No, nobody needs comment (certainly not comment) on the irony of using a post to complain about others posts but it had to be said. Use your loafs people!

I'm on IOS, so I can't figure out how to comment on your post, but if Megaton goes to Mule's Gang I can give HighElf a character sheet for Joanna, who would have been in control of the city if I was RPing it. Would this be satisfactory for all?

I'd also like to say something, there's no need for anyone to go:

Enclave- Justin, you should be prepared for X because Y is about to happen when they get to Olney

Me- Okay

The example in 'me' is not necessary, it's effing stupid to write one word or otherwise a small handfuls long post. There's no need to make public confirmation you read a post, you don't do it in normal threads, you don't do it here. If you see someones post, let them assume you did, otherwise fault is on you for not keeping an eye on the OOC thread before you post. I really can't stand those tiny posts/confirmed read your post style posts and it just adds an entirely unneeded level of unprofessional. Seriously, our OOC threads vastly outnumber this and them someone, I forget who and don't really care, has the balls to try and make a THIRD thread exclusively for CS? No, that [censored] should be in the OOC, it's just some jackelopes like spamming the thread with tiny changes to their CS or cry about miniscule things like who gets more toilet paper. I frankly don't care, that junk needs to be solved by you and the person you're directly sword rattling at, there's no need to prattle on like lickspittles for ten bloody posts over why Faction A should have more rocks and sand than Faction B.

If it's a big big issue, yes, let's discuss this, but if you and player B have a big issue that you two can't reach a conclusion to, try an impartial side player. If you DON'T like that response, don't go in this thread looking for agreement, just svck it the hell up and live with it. Yes I'm a bit pissy because I have to agree with Rohugh, people are taking a privilege (Yes OOC threads are a privilege, not a user right) and abusing it six ways to Sunday.
