Combat duel wield

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 2:13 am

It's not even that. I personally don't care about OP weapons, they do their job.

Anything to survive.

What I worry about is control scheme. Can't iron sight on my controller with the left trigger, would have to map a new...wait that's one's being used...What button isn't being used? Maybe keyboard...? Well, that just kicks USB controller users in the crotch. Or do both fire with the right trigger?

It's just messy. the KISS rule is fine by not having it.

Please no, I actually want to hit something when I shoot, let's leave dual wielding to Hollywood.

How would individual attack for each weapon work, or zooming in work with dual wield? There's just not enough buttons on a controller and I can't imagine how they'd lay it out on a keyboard and mouse either, it just doesn't add up.
I feel pretty certain that it's not going to be in.

um so you did not play last years wolfenstein? No poking fun at you at all ...I am really curious if you did not. I mean they did it in that game just fine. AND that was also published by Bethesda.

Not speaking to me, but I didn't play that game. My computer at the time was rather lacking. Was it any good? Been actually considering getting it if it goes on sale.

I did not, but did that game have as many controls as Fallout 4 will have? Melee strikes with our ranged weapons, throwing grenades as its own key or button, as well as sneaking and sprinting and reloading and perhaps even swapping ammo if it's in - I don't see how a controller or mouse would allow firing two weapons separately after the fact.

yeah man! all of that! But some of it was contextual!
I wish GOD I WISH more DEV would do that with their controls. I mean I do understand your dislike of too many buttons. I hate that as well. I mean I my first FPS (100s of hours AND I made wads for the game as well) was DOOM where you only needed FIVE buttons to play.
I stop playing er.. I think it was battlefield (?) after 15 minutes because of too many freaking buttons.
The combat mods I make use only ONE new button that does EVERTHING (trigger all my new features) depending on what else you re doing in the game.

GREAT!!!!!! but I do not think I am objective. I had been craving an exciting but simple wwII FPS (like original COD) for many many years.

Well I don't necessarily have a dislike for too many buttons, but seeing as how I'm pretty sure things won't just be contexual in Fallout 4, it's an issue of how many buttons a controller has. Perhaps if there is dual wielding, you would only alternate between firing the two, though I'm not sure about holding a shield.

Its good to know, if it goes on sale this Halloween I will probably nab it up. Would you suggest the dlc as well? I am more of a svcker for the story, no matter how bad in fps. I'm one of the types that played F.e.a.r. and even doom on easy mode, just to experience the story. (So my standards for storytelling are not exactly to high!)

I would like duel-wielding but I don't expect the game will have it.

Dual wielding unrealistic? So instead of equipping both my hands in powerful pneumatic gauntlets that displace kinetic energy outward to the point that you could make a skull cave inward or organs rupture, I should just slap on one and be incredibly predictable, slow, and vulnerable? I don't want it more due to it being useless out side of dealing with swarms of weak enemies where I'd still more likely use a shotgun, flamer or SMG/rapid firing heavy weapon.

balance wise I'd say it's more under powered.

  • Less accuracy as you aren't aiming down the sights and can't zoom in (would expect right click to be fire right weapon)
  • Slower reload, how do you put the new rounds in a revolver or [censored] a pistol?
  • Eat through ammo.

Double fire rate but lower hit rate and slower reload would make it barely an upgrade.

Melee weapons, meh only if it suited it like some of the gauntlets (mantis/deathclaw)
