Combat duel wield

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 5:14 am

Is it gonna be possible to duel wield 2 pistols? Or maybe even have a pistol in one hand and knife in the other? Ive never seen a fallout game where thw player can wield 2 pistols or 2 sub machine guns.

So far as we seen, nope, tho technically Beth has not said no, the fact that no video content or otherwise have shown it, suggest that its not in the game.

Time will tell in the end.

In my opinion they should add this. As it stands pistols are pretty bad compared to other firearms. Big guns beat pistols and smgs usually ... But 2 pistols or smgs... Epic. I think COD handled it well. You can't aim down the sights but can fire both at once.

I hope this is a joke....

You understand this is Fallout right? There has never been any sense of realism, in fact it's cartoonish and slapstick much of the time....

In a setting that features people turned into ghouls by radiation poisoning, giant ants, and talking deathclaws, and you want to talk about what's realistic.

While I like the idea of dual wielding, I question how well it would work with the game mechanics.

Nah, likely not. I understand why people would want it, it looks cool, but it would nto be possible alongside VATS and the new modding system.

Apart from that pistols are in no way inferior to rifles. I beat NV mainly with the use of a varmint rifle and a silenced .22. There are pistols out that are way stronger, too, the 12.7mm for example. It is just as easy to beat the game with a low level weapon as with a Gatling.

Yeah, I thinking more along the lines of being way too overpowered to be honest. Running around with a pair of named revolvers. There would have to be a huge downside.

I can see it being a perk maybe with a huge accuracy deficiency.

I would just say accuracy reduction of 50% as well as -25% weapon damage. That should make it equal to the light machine gun ext.

3 barrel rocket launcher with bayonet, dual wielding. That would be great. A bit silly i agree, but great.

No i am not expecting that dual wielding exist in Fallout 4 atleast in vanilla game. Maybe some players will make a mod for certain guns and melee weapons. So they can dual wield pistols, smg or even knife.

To be fair, a certain amount of realism is required to make a game enjoyable. If it wasn't, Fallout would look more like a game of Checkers without the board and the checkers.

Each individual has a different set of tolerances pertaining to acceptable unreal elements. To someone who has made their living with weapons, seeing dual wielding in a game or movie, jolts them out of their suspended disbelief and back into the real world. Basically, the see it and immediately think to themselves, "You are soooooo dead."

The good news for us that dislike dual wielding in games and movies, even if it is included in Fallout 4, is that we will not be required to use it and since this is a single player game we will not be required to put up with another player wanting to look "cool". And should their be an NPC that dual wields, they will jolt me out of my suspended disbelief, and I will think to myself, "You are soooooo dead!" and then I will proceed to dramatically demonstrate to said NPC why dual wielding is a stupid idea by killing them. :P

In short, it doesn't matter to me if dual wielding is included, since I won't use it.

I certainly hope not do welding is one of the stupidest things and all of video gamedome. No one in real life to wields because it is simply worse than wielding one weapon

its kinda hard to balance i guess...i mean you could implement it just for cosmetics reasons and make you shoot half as fast...but that would look weird too...or you could just half the damage of the weapons when yoou dualwield

It would likely just reduce accuracy greatly. Try shooting two pistols in real life. It's terribly inneffective. I couldn't even imagine dual wielding two SMG's lol just a waste of ammo IMO. Looks cool but serves little to no purpose if we wanna be even partially realistic which they're obviously trying to do with improved shooting mechanics

Its for the best. Calling a pistol "jam" is just jinxing it.

While I always enjoy dual wielding pistols ---- particularly in a shamballa style Gun-Fu kind of crazy world where you can "death blossom" a whole room ---- in Fallout 4 I'd be happy if we could have a pistol in one hand and, say, a knife in the other. Of course, with the ability to pistol whip (as seen in a video) having a second hand melee weapon may be superfluous.

Having two MELEE weapons, now, makes perfect sense ---- sword in one hand, parrying dagger in the other. Granted, you'd likely get shot in the face, but you should be able to wield those.

I always figured that dual pistols just meant you had double the shots before you have to reload and you looked a little cooler.

You actually fired each weapon separately unless you were being charged by a packed mob of mole rats or some thing.

Skyrim had dual wield melee.

If it isn't included in Fallout 4, someone will certainly be able to mod in dual wield melee and likely able to mod in dual wield pistols.

In reality it is entirely possible to dual wield pistols. It is not, however, particularly effective for most people, although just like with most everything else in life it can be learned with enough time and practice.

Dual wielding realistic? Absolutely. Practical for every day use? No. Recommended for your average every day Joe who shoots his guns once every six moths? Absolutely not.

Doesn't mean diddily squat, but check out the icon for L06 Luck on the http://bethesda.net/#en/events/game/fallout-4s-character-system/2015/09/24/31 page. May mean there's an inkling of a possibility of dual wield pistols, maybe not...

i think they wouldnt do it through reducing accuracy - cause they changed the crit system because they wanted less rng and this would drastically increase rng

"every day pistol use" - where the hell do you live mate??

One thing DID bother me about FO3: not too much difference between one handed and 2 handed weapons. the weapon itself was different, stats and specs, but in reality, it was just another look and set statistics.

maybe adding shields? trash can lids, pantry doors, car doors and even bulletproof glass panes with chains wrapped around it for handles? use a pistol or one hande melee weapon with it? Or maybe just allow to keep shooting while melee-ing or tossing grenades with one handers?

IDK, maybe I am just afraid gun fatigue will sit in too early if all guns are just the same gameplay with different paces.
