Combat is ESO seems very, Easy! Maybe too Easy

Post » Mon Feb 24, 2014 3:35 pm

I have so far enjoyed the beta, everything about this game is new and extremely fun, and i love the way the combat system completely diverts from the usual mmo, and follows its roots from other elder scrolls tittles.

But during my experience of the beta i found combat mind numbingly easy, and ended up running through multiple npc's in roughly 10 seconds, to the point where i was challenging excessive amounts of npc's to create a challenge for my self.

I have also noticed in video footage from other users on the beta, that they are wading through the npc mobs at a similar rate to my self and finding it relatively easy as well.

This has put me at a standstill with a game because, i like a challenge, i don't want a game where i can complete everything first time really easily with zero effort, it removes the sense of achievement from the game.

I don't know whether zenimax are planning on modifying the combat in eso before release, or if anyone else feels the same about this.

I would like to hear other peoples opinions,

One video of someone solo'ing a dark anchor in beta caused me to create this topic, he managed to solo the encounter designed for 2-4 people with ease, barely reaching 50% health at times never going below that mark.

I was hoping that they reduced difficulty for test reasons.

I dont think they would release game with that difficulty.

Also title is a bit misleading

I believe the video you're speaking of has a nightblade who can disengage from combat at will using an ability. That's insanely powerful in PvE with dumb AI that doesn't go searching and needs to be looked at.

That said, I also found all PvE content outside of dungeons far too easy to solo. The only time I nearly died was when I was hardly paying attention to my health and just kept fighting. But I didn't die even then, because 1 instantaneous heal was enough to go and kill 5 more mobs.

To even consider needing to find a group for any of it is laughable. And that's sad for an MMO.

it was said that dark anchor was made for 2 people to be able to do it. so one good player was able to solo it.. not a big deal.

mobs wise.. i thought it was just as hard as in any other mmo..

I mean what lvl did you get to, the game should get harder the higher you get.

Just my opinion have not played the beta.

Easy is good.

Thing is, people who find a MMO too easy usually have ways to make combat more challenging.

People that find combat too hard have to go out of their way to make it easier, if it's even possible.

only place where i died a number of times was at around level 12 when i went into a solo dungeon for fighters guild quest to kill some mini boss...

basically at 50%hp it would transform and start regenerating life every 3secs or whatever so i had to re-evaluate my skill setup and used all on spike damage. Other than that i would only die from my own stupidity when over pulling mobs and such :)

I believe it was said that dark anchors were designed for 2-4 people, 4 people preferably, but that 2 skilled people could manage it together with increased difficulty.
